Plus the shipping and transfer fee on slick guns. You always have to take that into account. That can be as little as 25 or as much as 125 depending on your ffl and shipping fees. If you haven't yet find a good small time ffl they are usually the cheapest for transfers.

I'm supposed to be cutting down a Handi Rifle barrel this weekend. I bought a 45-70 specifically to chop down to 17" but for some reason I'm hesitant to go through with it.

I guess I want it to be perfect right off the bat and I'm not looking forward to going full tilt ocd with a file for the next two weeks.

So the word is Wal-Mart is giving up the "tactical" rifles. Folks are saying they discounted them heavily. Like $250 and $350 in some cases. Man, I wish!

After Sandyhook, they stopped carrying all evil black rifles, as did Dicks Sporting Goods. Most stupid business decision I can think of. Everyone wanted them and would pay through the nose to get them, but to appease some liberals' agendas they decided it would be politically advantageous to stop selling the rifles. Thing is, those who would buy would MORE than offset those that would boycott. Shame when morons bow to stupidity...
