That's a good load as well Ray. Read up on the Federal's LE132-1B load. I've reay reviews and watched videos. I think this will be the load I will go to. Kept all 15 pellets on an 18X24 target at 40 yards before a single pellet went outside the target. And yes, it is one of their Flight Control Wad loads.

I keep some #1 buckshot on hand for home defense, and over-penetration is not a concern as it is only the General and I here. For my pistols I really like the Hornady Critical Defense loads. In my Taurus Judge I keep a few buckshot loads and a couple of the CD loads.

I also posted this over in the Gun Talk thread. I am hoping to get a response from anyone that has experience with the Federal flight control wad 00 and #1 buckshot loading.

Is the reduced load #1buck and 00buck enough or is the full power 00 buck really needed.

The flight control reduced recoil OO buck is a very good round. 25 yards and in it will do the trick. Actually a bit more but I don't have any place in my home that comes close to 25 yards long so I'll call it good.

I have never messed with #1 buck.

OK, still waiting on my Fav ammo dealer to get in some more of the Federal LE13200 low recoil 00 buckshot with the flight control wad ammo. That being said, I contacted Federal and they said to NEVER shoot any flight control wad ammo through a ported barrel. Guess I will be shopping for a new screw in NON ported choke for my Weatherby.

These look a lot like what's on my shotgun now (as far as the fluting goes). I like the white color of Beretta Benelli Mobil Cremator Non-Ported Snow Goose Choke Tubes. I hope they have them in .715 or .720 constriction. I have just never been comfortable with Cylinder bore choke.

Just scroll down for a view of all the chokes.

I have only used flight control from an cylinder bore. I have no idea how it would work on anything else.

Thats the standard for a defensive shotgun. I think it woulddo ugly things with porting. Or anyhting but an open cylinder.

Skunky, under what conditions will you use the flight control ammo?
