OK NOW for the Baked Beans

DEBBIE'S TEXAS STYLE BAKED BEANS (Patty's sister Debbie died in 2002 of Cancer)

2 pounds bacon.
4 pounds ground beef (browned)
4 LARGE cans baked beans
** We just use half the ground beef and half the beans)
4 Beef bouillon cubes
1 1/2 cups (HOT tap water works best)
1 Tblsp mustard
1 jar hot and spicy BBQ sauce
Minced onions and garlic along with salt and pepper to taste

Fry the bacon until crisp. Dice it up and set aside for later
Mix the ground beef (drained) BBQ sauce and beans and mix thoroughly.

Dissolve the bouillon cubes in the water, and when completely dissolved add to the hamburger mixture
Add the mustard, onions and garlic and add the diced/crumbled bacon over the top and stir until well mixed.

Put in a large pot on the stove on low heat, or a Crock Pot and heat up for about 30 minutes so all the flavors will have time to come together. Spoon into a bowl and enjoy.

Having other people cook does that for me and without wearing an apron!

That was great, Tom. Gave me a chuckle that will last a week.

I would say it's cheap entertainment, but wait until you get my bill! grin

Just like my Dad, well not quite as bad. Dad would drive across town 3 or 4 miles just to save a quarter! Me, I got to save at least 50 cents. grin

Maxped Pigmy Falcon II on sale. Almost got the on sale Pigmy Falcon as well but decided not to. Gonna use this to build up another or different GHB and will be adding a IFAK pouch once I figure out what to put in it.

I plan on dragging the Falcon from car to car depending on what we are driving. The First aid bag will probably be the only add on pouch I put on it. PLUS it has IFAK stitched to the front cover (you'll love this Tom, it's Marine Corps issue, or was). This way I can lighten up my "Man Bag" so it won't be as heavy when I carry a gun in it instead of on my belt.

Well... I got my PFII from Maxped today and I ALMOST wish I had also ordered the Falcon II. After getting the PFII and adjusting the straps for the way I want I think it will work out real nice for a GHB or a BOBL (Bug Out Bag Lite). My trusty Malaga is 11 liters whereas this one is 18. Just a tad over half again as big. I think it will allow me to comfortably carry the weight I presently have in my Malaga (16.5 pounds). I CAN and have carried the Malaga for a couple hours at a time but it does tend to get a mite bothersome. I think that I will find some other use for it, maybe a lite bag for Patty. We shall see.

Even if I go up to 20 pounds with the PFII, I think it will be a lot more comfortable to carry seeing as how it is a conventional two strap pack. Now all I have to do is affix my Mil Surplus IFAK to it and get out my Round SS water Bottles with their nesting cups, do more research and thinking about what I want to carry in it and then see what will maybe need to go and what needs to be added.

All in all I am happy with turning it into a GHB and I'll probably regulate the Malaga into a day ba , or a bag for Patty as I said earlier. Either one of which I pick will open up a whole new can of worms. My brain hurts already. grin
