Gun Dog started a thread about using a motorcycle for a BOV. BOV are a topic I've been thinking about a lot lately.

In my estimation there are three categories:

A) Daily driver. This is your normal vehicle but well equipped.

B) Dedicated BOV. This is likely a 4WD with a healthy dose of provisions, but could also be a bicycle, motorcycle, 4-wheeler, etc.

C) Mobile Retreat. This is a BOLOW (bug out location on wheels). Picture a motor home that has been up-armored, etc.

What say you?

I'd like to keep this thread realistic. Most of us cannot or will not afford a H1 Hummer with uparmor so let's discuss "BOV accessible by the masses".

An old VW bug comes to mind (for example).

ETA: or a on older school bus that is bought at auction for $3-4000 and retrofitted. Just an example. I think we can all benefit from sharing grand ideas, but let's keep it real.

My bov/bolow with a camper on the back. Runs on an awful lot of fuels, emp resistant, can go anywhere you need to go and easy to work on.

My Tojo. I know it inside out. It is reliable as the day is long. Spares everywhere. All I need to add is food to extend my time away. It has long range tanks that give me atoning 1000km range without topping up from the cans.

I am in fact laying across the back seat as I type this having driven about 6hrs after work today I am taking a break and getting to camp tomorrow. My bike is in the off-road trailer behind me if the going gets really rough !!!

We've seen pics of your rig. YUP, I'd say it will go about anywhere.
