My poor wife has had to follow me around dozens of times in dozens of environments taking pictures of me wearing different colors and patterns.

She agrees 100% that:

Woodland is by far the best in spring/summer
Multicam is best in fall/winter

This is an aggregate decision. Some patterns work better for highly specialized environments (e.g. some of the civilian tree patterns work really well if you stand next to a tree, but move into an open field and they fail).

Oddly, another pattern that performed really well in fall was the old Austrian "pea" camo. It's a weird pinkish with purple "blob" pattern that I think heavily influenced multicam.

When I use to contribute to survival forms I probably posted 30+ threads for camo tests.

You wouldn't think that ^^^^ would work but it did.

IF I had to choose between the two as my only options, I THINK I would choose the Multicam. Not based on anything scientific, just personal observation/preference. I think that the Multicam would work best as a year round pattern whereas the woodland would stand out in winter specially where the Multicam with it's somewhat lighter colors would look more like debris or dead leaves/limbs.

I could see that pattern working in certain environments. Around here and your Area as well.

Micro patterns like CADPAT, MARPAT, etc all turn into their base color over distance.

Multicam does this to a smaller degree. Multicam appears light tanish at 100+ yards which works well in brown veg. Multicam' advantage is the versatility.

Multicam works well in every environment I've tested it in, but usually isn't the best in green weeds.

If I were going to pick ONE color/pattern it would be Multicam.

ATACS FG is another good "one only" pattern, but the availability of quality gear and uniforms makes it a non starter.

I've said for years that one of the best "Camo" clothing for a "City" setting, specially at night is blue jeans. Dull color, and will blend in with different sections of the city.

When I tested ATACS FG it looked really light in summer woodland veg. I felt like an Easter Bunny.
