Now all he has to do is reduce it (the Taliwhacker) down to (let's say 4 inches total blade length for those jurisdictions where 4 inches is the limit) and it will be good to go! Oh and yeah make it a kinda mini/micro choil so it can be more easily sharpened in the field. Just make a small 1/8 inch cut at the plunge line and it's good.

I was thinking a "Mini" choil Just take NO MORE than 1/8 inch toward the point from the Plunge line. That would be a minimal choil yet allow for using round rods or any kind of stone to sharpen every bit of the edge. In my experience (and I am NO expert), sharpening all the way to the plunge line (no choil) can leave for a small portion of the edge that can not be sharpened because the edge against the plunge line is quite a bit thicker than the actual cutting part of the edge further along the edge toward the point.

Hope I haven't confused you with my lame attempt at an explanation.

I guess I could wear my Jason, the Golden Years outfit, but on second thought that probably wouldn't faze the folks in St. Louis. At least we are gonna be on the Southwest side of town where it will hopefully be a lot safer. St Louis is starting to turn into a cesspool like Chicago!
