I have access to sharpening things, Ha Ha... But what do you guys use/do to sharpen your knives?

Diamond stones/rods and Ceramic Spyderco sharpmaker and a medium Spyderco 8 inch ceramic stone. Oh and when out I use an EZ Lap model M.

Oh and I have a couple DMT folding 4 inch hones as well, in course and fine. And a Smiths course diamond stone Patty bought me over 20 years ago and it's STILL going strong!

I have and use the DMT hones as well. I had them long before I started at Scrap Yard.

Funny, not funny. Ok yes, I did chuckle.

OK, I have several different methods; diamond stones, Japanese water stones, pull-through type sharpeners, 1' x 30" belt grinder, 4' X 36" belt grinder, Smith's sharpening kits, and ceramic stones.

When I was in high school, I used my grandfather’s oil stone. Then I bought a set of Arkansas oil stones. I used them for many years until I bought a KME sharpening set. I have a Ken Onion Work Sharp for my long knives and machetes. For chisels, carving tools and plane irons, I have a set of diamond stones. For my Japanese kitchen knives, I have a set of Japanese water stones and some Shapton glass stones. For my straight razors, I have a Belgian Coticule, a Nakayama Kiita Kan Koppa, an Ozuku mizu blue tomae, and an Asano Stamped MIkawa Shiro Nagura Set. Since I like the results of a good sharpening but absolutely hate the pure tedium of sharpening, I have been trying to convince my wife to do the sharpening for me. Nothing I can do will convince her. Anybody have any good suggestions?

Tell her You have been studying Hypnosis.

Ray, tell your wife she can have more time to work in the garden and shovel snow when appropriate.

If I can’t find any plants, no garden this year. I’m going to teach her how to paint the house,
