I hope Randy has a good supply of hog jowls and turnip greens on hand.

HUP and we just bought a Port Butt today. I'm making a pork roast. Glad it wasn't a Donkey roast or we would be having A.. for supper!

We also got black eyed peas, green beans, pintos, tomato juice, pasta and all the normal SOUTHERN foods.

You left out collard and mustard greens and shrimp and grits. Also crawdads and frogs.

Collards and mustard greens we got. Also Kale. And WHO don't got Shrimp and grits. Crawdads too. But we ain't that fond of frogs legs. Thems poor folks food don'tcha know.

Speaking of food, gotta go check the roast.

I just had some gumbo and a large shrimp salad.

Haha, I actually ate some left over Mongolian beef and Calamari. Oh and some black peppered chicken and Black pepper shrimp. Oh and egg rolls, forgot the egg rolls.

When my family went to Alabama every summer to visit family, I used to go frog gigging with my cousins. Nobody considered frog’s legs to be for poor folks. Everybody grabbed a big hunk of cornbread and a plate of legs and chowed down. Maybe we were considered to be high society because we used tartare sauce on the legs (and had indoor plumbing).

That was of course a joke about the frogs legs. BUT I have heard that many many years ago, like in the 1800s, Lobster was considered food fit only for REAL poor folk or slaves.

I read the same thing somewhere; my how times have changed!
