Ha ha, not the way I've been spending it lately! But I have shed a few ounces.

I found a way to spend some cash. I just got back from the grocery store. Canned and dry goods to restock our pantry. I'm glad I was able to get most stuff before the next wave of panic buying kicks in.

We're pretty well stocked up right now. Just bought a couple packs of TP so we should be good that way at least for some time. So far our local grocer has been well stocked this last month, maybe two.

On the local front, our local Dollar General Store has an employee that has the Virus. AND our local CO-OP (farm supply type business) had an employee that has it. At COOP they gave him a going away party (he was joining the Military) and two days later he tested positive. Combining both business employees ONLY, probably 30-40 people have been exposed to it. PLUS a guy and his wife that sometimes come to our church both tested positive. Kinda quite an impact on a town of only 1300 folks.

I don't think the COVID is particularly bad here. People like to panic and I couldn't find a lot of stuff we normlly use. (Like macaroni and bowtie pasta) so we had to make due for the past few months. Stores aren't open late anymore so I have to pick and choose when I go. Luckily they had most everything. I'm just glad we were able to restock and then add a bit. I stocked up on dried veggies this go around.

Any time I go out I try to pick up a few things to add to our stash; it takes the sting out of paying for a major resupply trip. wink

Ever since I put up those plastic shelving units our canned goods have become a lot more manageable. And I actually did an inventory of all our canned items while I was at it. We don't keep anything in paper or cardboard out in the garage. We have had mice out there before and don't want them ruining what food items we do have.

I can't put anything foodwise in the garage, unless its in the freezer. The mice move in like a hoard. I kill a few and they stay away for a few months and then they are back. My kid spills enough dog food to keep them coming in and the warmth in the winter.

We DID have a bad problem with mice in the garage. But several years ago, I walked around and any place that looked it may lead to an inlet for mice got filled up with expandable foam insulation. SO far we have only had a mouse in there maybe two years out of 5 or 6. It's helped a lot.

They come in under the garage door.

I sealed up along the sides of our garage door and it closed tight enough that they couldn't get in under the seal.
