Well all my "Gun" plans have been put on hold. First the Suppressor didn't come in when it was supposed to. Good thing, had to drop over a grand in tires on the pickup. Then had to spend a buck and a half on a battery and assorted stuff. Then half that to try and find out why the ac/heater fan slows down and will eventually stop, and then start working fine at a later time. Couldn't tell me a thing cause it was working when I took it in.

Then, quicker than we had intended, got a new (to us) vehicle. 2011 Jeep Patriot, 4cyl front wheel drive with less than 42K on the clock.

GD, just had this convo with my FFL. Set up a revokable trust BEFORE you but NFA stuff. Then have the trust purchase it. You can even register the trust in a gun friendly state nearby if your state wont allow transfers and then go buy it there and bring it back as the trustee. Even CA residents can do this if it's registered in NV.

Just picked up my 20" Grendel and 16" 458 SOCOM this afternoon. Fairly stoked! It will be a while til I get the 458 running though. I have zero cash left for an optic.

I have a bumpfire stock I'll be selling off and I am toying with the idead of selling off my M4 profile melonite upper that I put a compensator on (about 250-300 rounds) to fund my last AR purchase (its a disease).

I do love the upper and it seems fairly accurate (2" groups at 50 yards with a 4moa dot resting off my cane) but I'm using mainly scopes and the point of the gun is a varmint set up for yotes, or it will be...would prefer a nice day dxx dxx stainless med contour with a good barrel. Problem is, I know if I do that, I'll need to replace the M4 upper with another! Like I said....its a disease...

I enjoy reading about Y'alls gun deals, info etc, but most of it is WAY above my knowledge base. Sounds cool though. smile

My issues is I have to use my grandparents for my home address even though I don't live with them. Only stable address I can use since I move around so much. I'm afraid my grandpa wants nothing to do with NFA and storing things at my parents house is something's dad wouldn't want.

You don't need an address to set up a trust--it's a legal document, kinda like incorporating yourself. You can set up the trust in any state you want. Let's say, for instance, if NFA items cannot be purchased in your state that you set up your trust in Texas (where many of the silencers are made). You can then purchase an item for the trust in the state your trust is set up in, go pick it up, and take it home with you. Doesn't matter if you have a stable address or not--the trust has legal status in a state, and as a trust beneficiary (in your case, the executor of the trust) you can take it out of the "trust" (not a physical place) and carry it with you wherever you go. No need to get your grandpa involved at all!

Of course, it's even easier if your state has lax gun laws. Just set it up in your state, have the item shipped to your FFL, have hime transfer it to your trust, and you are golden.

Side benefits: no finger prints, pictures, or background checks need to be done since it's a legal entity, not a person; takes about 16 weeks to get the stamp; and anyone who is named a trust beneficiary can use the items in the trust, including NFA items. So your wife, son, father, daughter, or whomever is a trust beneficiary can use the NFA item WITHOUT you being directly with them.

Gun control laws: ity's time to make them work for our benefit grin

That is my plan exactly DT, in my opinion a trust is the only way to go.

I just got my bumpfire systems stock in the other day I haven't played with it yet but I figured it would be a fun toy that could have a use in the future.

Is $270 a good price for a Henry basic 22lr lever gun? Saw my Walmart had one marked from $320 down to that. Not sure of its worth picking up...

Dang. Wish I'd have known you were looking. After using mine, I realized I'm never gonna get proficient enough with it to use in a real life situation.

Translation: I just don't get out to the range enough wink
