Another "size" thread.
You guy need to find a hobby ... that doesn't involve ... measuring "stuff".

Hey, it's not the measurement that matters, but what you can do with it.

I'm thinkin that the 511 size handle would work really nice. Hey Dan, make a few and pass them around to the Mods er ah a few good Dogs for T&E and we'll report back to you as to how they handle mundane tasks and abuse. I actually do think that this would make an excellent "Survival" blade. It would have the correct length (not more than 4.25) and the right blade thickness 3/16 and the correct blade height, just maybe an eighth inch taller from edge to spine as the 511. Oh and it would have to have that Tanto appearing point, WITHOUT actually being a tanto. I've actually wondered if a bigger handle like the Trash's would be a plus...help with a secure grip. C'mon Gary...we are still guys/boys...that's what we do!

LOL The one thing that would make a B-11 better would be a slightly bigger handle, like the DogFather handle.

So the B-11 has the same handle as the B-8?

It would make an epic combat blade. Long enough to do all the regular tasks of a "War" blade, opening MRE's boxes and other regular mundane tasks. And at the same time the wide blade (for it's length) would make for a stronger more robust "Last resort" blade and with the modified tanto looking tip, wouldn't have any problem with penetration.
No, it wouldn't be as long as many experts claim it needs to be for a "Killin" knife, but it doesn't need to be a blade like that. It needs to be a blade that Those that go in harms way would actually carry AND use, for a multitude of uses.

The Tali-Whacker as Tom pointed out is not as brawny as the Last Rites, although they do look similar. That being said, the Mini Tali-Whacker (IF Dan would make it) would also not be as robust as a miniature version of the Last Rites. BUT with Dan and Jerry's National Treasure process for heat treatment I don't think anyone would ever need to worry about one breaking on them if it were ever needed to defend someone's life. AND as previously stated it would not only make a great combat blade but be one heck of a great CCW knife to boot!

It would certainly be more useful than a bayonet for the mundane tasks.

I have heard it said MANY times, a Soldiers blade is SELDOM used for anything BUT mundane tasks. And that's a good thing.
