I'm trying to decide if the BG FBM will be a replacement for some other chopper I have.

I'll have to wait ... two weeks ... to find out in person.

It will be an awesome chopper, but weighty as well. wink Carried in/on a pack shouldn't be bad.

Id be all over this if I didn't have a couple FBM's already.

I thought about getting a camo one with hand shaped micarta, but as long as I have a couple already I'm good.

I have the Cerakoted bronze one from Blade a few years ago, but I HAD to get this one in SR-101 and no CBT. wink

I like it but between my FDM and TTReg I'm set in the large area. I keep trying non ResC handles and keep coming back to the dogs for big blades.

I agree Sethrotull, you can't beat the ResC for chopping, its much easier on your hands.

I agree with all of the comments in here.

Tom - I'd love to have an INFI FBM.
BC - If I had one or two INFI I'm not sure I'd get one in SR101.
Seth - I too get drawn in by the looks of non-RESC, but drawn back to the performance of RESC.

I just bought several 1111, and love general perceived (haven't used them) performance. However, the IDEA and LOOK of the FBM is what brought me into the Bussepshere 10 years ago. I couldn't resist the chance to finally try one without paying $800.

Frankly, I like SR101. For my money, the jury is hung on the INFI vs SR101 debate. I just don't have enough evidence to declare INFI 200+% (based upon cost) superior to SR101.

I do, however, prefer to buy the best when I can afford it ... even if it just perceived or promoted as the best.

Great pics as always Andy!

Now you have me wanting to change one of my black / black G10 to sage.

I was terribly torn on black vs sage as in the past sage has been my favorite. I'm not as fond of the "new sage" which has a redish tinge to it (old had a sickly green tinge that I preferred).

I've owned more sage / tan micarta than anything else.

I wonder if its too late to change one.....

This autumn / winter I fully plan on testing the new BG FBM. I'd like to compare it to other choppers, but I may just complete a through evaluation of the BGFBMs performance.

I've never even held a FBM. I'm pretty excited, and Andy's pics just made me more so.
