bld522, Negative.. no knives in the mail today.
Mail guy came by at 2:23pm like clockwork (hmm nice caliber). I even stalked him for a few houses.. checkin to see if he dropped off any knife-looking packages at the neighbors.
shucks.

Hmmm, I'm in Northern California and I got mine yesterday. We cant figure it out. When things come from Ohio to us in Texas it can take 3 days to 2 weeks. All other states for incoming mail seem to be a little more predictable and in line with expectations. Sorry that its not there yet...Hang in there Dan

Well, I live in a pretty small town. I've actually had the mail lady flag me down to give me a package that needed a signature when I wasn't home. She's very cool about that kinda stuff. Other mail can be unpredictable though. It can take 4 days to get mail from Reno and I can drive there in two hours.
I'm sure God likes us all the same. LOL

ups owns usps. fedex, i don't know. i guess they're better too.

I use 'em both at the same time.. just in case. 1. Oh that's the month i need to put a new tranny in my old POS _______. (yes it *does* need to be replaced every 2 years.. that's why it's a POS _______!) 2. Oh i provide long term medical care for my poor aunt _______ who's afflicted with (some obscure disease). ..works every time man. Haven't even gone into a court house for a Decade now.. i just write those on the little excuse slip & mail it in.

Another day of mail spotting begins, Tony. Perhaps today will be the day our SS4's arrive. I'll be at work when the carrier delivers the mail. Bruce, yeah me too.. hey.. Why is it my important mail, knives, gun parts can get Lost/Delayed in the mail. But my Jury Summons ALWAYS get delivered?? ..must have some kinda homing beacon in it or something!!

Yep.. right here.. oh man this knife feels sooooo.. ..GOOD! I thought the Howling Rat Little Mischief handle was Perfect. ..but Street Scrapper 4 handle feels like it was Custom molded for ME! oh man i can't put the SS4 down.. it feels sooo GOOD! The HRLM feels pretty substantial.. hefty.. iirc someone weighed it @ 9 oz. The SS4 feels weightless.. Very quick in the hand. I'll be curious exactly how much it weighs. This is my first Resiprene-C.. it's amazing. Much harder than tire rubber.. yet light. and feels tough. i've never felt anything like it. The Street Scrapper 4 is AWESOME! I'm keeping this thing ForeveR! Thanks Patti & Dan! i'm speechless!

That pic of the SR makes me wish I'd gotten one in that size. Guyon, Ya know.. i wasn't even gonna keep both.. thought the HRLM would be a "tide me over till the SS4" knife.. I was prejudiced to keeping the SS4, then finding excuses to get rid of the HRLM. But.. the HRLM feels soooo good in hand.. the heft.. the micarta makes you feel closer to the blade.. it out-chopped the SS4 of course.. weight of blade.. But the wide width of that blade is just ..reassuring.. I changed my mind! the HRLM grew on me, and I'm keeping it!

It has a bigger handle. I have big hands and the beak on the butt wasn't very comfortable. Also I like the smaller choil/longer edge length. I don't really need the choil, since I always also have my Shaker with me and can use it for finer work. I also like the heftier feel of it.

yeah.. you know what, Now i remember reading your review.. prolly on Swamp forum. I have medium hands, but I too have come to Really LIKE the HRLM!
This may sound blasphemous here but.. for a 4" blade i think i actually prefer the HRLM over the SS4!
so.. when you get Your SS4.. lemme know what you think!

yeah it's interesting bld522.. i haven't used the Gen 1 Res-C HR.. so dunno about that. I thought for sure the Infi vs SR-101 would be a no-brainer.. on paper i looked at all the specs, and i had already made my decision to keep the SS4 and sell the HRLM (so i thought)
BUT when i took both out to chop & use, that HRLM just started shining brighter for me! Its extra heft, blade geometry, maybe i have an obsession with its wide belly blade shape too, i dunno!
it's really hard for me to put into words.. just.. feeling in my hand, and during use.
So that really changed my outlook.. to not pre-judge a knife before i've gotten a chance to USE it first! And.. i'm sooo glad i scored an HRLM when i did

[quote It immediately took up residence in the most important place in my house . . . my emergency backpack. My Scrapper 6 rest in my BOB.

My S6 is first grab blade- no-brainer!! (the SS4 is second, my Tram' machete is third..)
Jerry the S7 would be interesting to compare to the venerable CT!

Jerry the S7 would be interesting to compare to the venerable CT! Agreed, the blade shapes are similar enough. My hope is that the Scrapper 7 would be a somewhat better chopper. Jerry

The extra steel in the res-C would make for a tougher knife- not easy being tougher than a CT (from what Cliff said!!!). The extra spine weight of the S7 would help chopping but doesn't sr101 take and hold a better edge? I figure all things being equal they'd be a good match performance wise..

Jerry the S7 would be interesting to compare to the venerable CT! All you need now is the Jeep!!! No Jeep for me. Next on my automobile list is either a Nissan Titan, or the Toyota Tundra. And then a fishin boat.

S7 will take more of a beating than sr101 but gives it up where edge retention is concerned. At least that's what I've been led to believe. Jerry

yeah.. you know what, Now i remember reading your review.. prolly on Swamp forum. You mean this one? Yep. it's really hard for me to put into words.. just.. feeling in my hand, and during use. It has a very solid, indestructible feel to it. The only way I can raise capital to buy a DF is if I sell something I already own, and my HR would all but cover the purchase price of the DF. Yeah, I saw the one Hank just bought on BF for $175. I bet you could get more for it than you paid. Got a Jeep I could 'borrow'? Ya can’t “borrow” ours either. :P

FedEx seems to be fairly reliable. Although, when I ship something, I use USPS Priority. I have had good luck with that!
