Any hint on when a chopper will be coming from the dog house? Want something with long fangs! By the way, I thought all the dogs were in Cleveland not Texas.

Cause it just don't look right if a dog doesn't have 'em.

That looks a lot like my dog Sallie. Hmmm...and I have some Billy-Bob Teeth too... No, I'm not gonna do it. I don't think she'd hold still for it, and I wouldn't want my teeth back after they've been in her mouth.

aw, c'mon, you know you want to -- besides, their mouths are cleaner than ours... just give 'em a scope dunk afterwards, and good to go -- plus, don't you ever kiss her? it's the same thing, dude -- get her when she's asleep, and snap the shot quick before she can spit 'em out... does it sound like i've done this before??

There are several interesting people who have posted, just not as often. Stacey - Paddling_Man, Ian - Trumby, and 360 are just a few. I have surprised myself, as I have posted here in one week what it took me about two years to post at the Swamp. Of course, getting in at the beginning helps, but I hope a lot of our Dog brethren will post more often. Their input is always appreciated.

GF - it's still funny after all these years! Of course, I never saw any M.P.'s like P.J.Soles or Sean Young for that matter. They sure made the Military look like fun!

I would say that I hope you're kidding, but have no doubt it's possible. I hear stories about the Boot Camps now, and they sound more like a recreational club than a training facility for hard-chargers (at least the Army camps). My Marine Drill Instructors would fall on the floor laughing!

I was told the exact same thing by an Army Drill Instructor! Scary thought when you realize these same recruits may end up fighting for our freedoms in some dangerous and stress-filled combat conditions.

By the way, are you trying to make me feel OLD ?!?

Old...no....Old School yes!....No school like the old school! Yeah I blame recruiters for pushing numbers through the system, rather than finding quality soldiers.....where are our Yorks....and Shrivers?

Thanks GF ! Actually, I think there are some Yorks and Shrivers out there, the right conditions just haven't revealed them yet. In the meantime, I have great appreciation and respect for any of our folks serving in the military.

Well, if you want to make one like mine, I'll put the link below to my how-to if you want to reference it. I'm working on a new size one for a M6/Scrapper 6. I'll post pics of it on Rat Chat when I'm done.

The new & improved $2 camo duct tape/cardboard RM sheath with step-by-step pics

The saddle stitch is not that hard. Try a Tandy leather working book. All the basics. My problem is breaking needles.

GF - I certainly appreciate your slow spelling for me! However, we have several feed and seed stores around here, and they don't sell much in the way of leather. However, the Tandy store in Springfield does!

Hmm…I’ve never heard of a feed store selling leather. Why would a feedstore sell leather?

Well, I have the info, I just haven’t set down and tried it yet. I posted some good links of how-to, along with some other sheathmaking info at Rat Chat: Leather Sheathmaking Question

I was planning on using a drill or punch to make the holes, to make it a little easier sewing-wise.

We have one of those in Indy, but I’ve never been there. Once I try my Shaker sheath, if it turns out well, I might have to make a trip and get some stuff. I haven’t looked yet, but thought I might get cheaper leather on eBay. I find about everything else there cheaper.

Thanks. I have the pieces all cut out, I just need to punch and sew 'em. It probably won't take that long to do, I've just been putting it off. It's been like 4 months since I started on it...guess I better finish it soon.

I think I'm going to try one myself, and plan on using a tiny drill bit for the holes in the leather. I'm shooting for "plain but functional" for my first attempt.

Unfortunately, schools are going to look more and more like POW camps now. Fences and armed guards, etc.

Yes, there's an excuse for everything now. Look at Kennedy's nephew, crashing through a parking gate while drunk. He blamed it on a medication, and got away with it. Nobody is responsible for their misdeeds anymore.

I have all sorts of dressings....I keep a SF tourniquet in my Booksack and 1 in my truck. Many pressure bandages and all sorts of first aid gear...that was the problem with Scouts....we "acquired" anything not bolted down...then we would pry everything else up! I still kind of feel bad about it, but we stole the heater from the Chaplins Humvee.

Well, at least you have a sharpening care package on its way as of 12:30EST today so maybe you can't leave Louisiana, but at least your Scrapper 6 LE will stay; and your pink-handled H Razor will be; hair-splitting sharp.

Truth be told, I prefer Budweiser, King Cobra, Long Island iced teas, SoCo Ritas, margaritas, Alabama Slammers, and Cuervo. Okay, for my house, we have a lower-quality/barely lower-priced tequila, but the bottle was wearing a sombrero and that's too cool to pass up.

On occasion, whiskey, bourbon, Scotch, or Canadian whisky is enjoyed.

Hot tea contains strained plants steeped in hot water. Cold tea contains rum, whiskey, tequila, vodka, triple sec, sour mix, and a splash of cola. Then folks from Georgia (USA, not former USSR) drink sweet tea which is the chilled version of hot tea with lemon and honey and/or sugar added.

My new favorite tea I've been drinking is "Hudson's Famous Brew". The flavor I like best is the green tea with honey, lemon, and ginsing. And I know a thing or two about how the Brits fix their tea too. A trick I learned from them is this: If you make tea and it's too bitter, add a bit of cream or milk. It cancels out the bitterness caused by the tannic acid.

Thom I like my tea hot and strong or cold and alcoholic... both fortify the soul nicely...

A collector needs dozens of knives (examples of whole company productions even...), does a user really need more than a great small (EDC?), medium (general outdoor carry) and large (chopper) knife? (Plus spares of favorites for when they go out of production or break!). Any thoughts?

I believe that a true collector buys but never sells, as compared to a trader who buys and sells occasionally.

And I drink both hot and cold tea!!! Tom
