I don't remember if I have ever posted this or not, Memory IS ONE of the first things to go.

I guess, ONE of my favorite knives is an SAK red handled Tinkerer. It's not a big knife, good carrying using size.

BUT the reason it is ONE of if not my most cherished knife is that our neighbor, the 78 year old widowed school teacher that lives next door that we go to church went on a European tour several years ago. She probably would have been about 73. Anyway, they went to Switzerland and she bought me and had my First name engraved on it.

She's one of the 4 Flowers I cart around to Flea markets every once in a while. Just the 4 of us from church and we have a blast! The teacher is 78 now and still going pretty good although some of her health problems are slowing her down and the other (besides Patty) is 74 and hyper as a 3 year old!

If we were all really honest with ourselves, all the folders we bought would be SAKs. I can do more with my Trekker than any other folder. The SAK saws work great.

Yep, I think you're right. I've made a good go at selling my extras non-users. Just bailed out on my Sage 2 though...withdrew it b/c I couldn't stand the thought of selling it too cheap. Was trying to get down to my Saks and a spyderco centofante my wife gave me. In a SHTF scenario, the only folder I would take would be my sak..and multitool...and the centofante.....and...yeesh...better to hunker down apparently! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I love how I posted this on Saturday and Sunday I was at the mall where they have a store with some older Spydercos...the mini manix, ocelot and Lum folder that all had me salivating and plotting how to buy them! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I'm a sick, sick knifeaholic! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Well RN, at least you are now admitting it, that's the first step. Now we need to work on your OTHER problem!

Seriously I do commend you on what you do, who you work with. I don't think I could handle working with people that way. They have a legitimate problem, not one that is made up of their own doing. If it is fake I can deal with it. IF they actually believe those things, I just don't know how to or don't have enough patience to deal with it. You have a special give and I for one am glad there are folks like you around.

Very kind- but no biggee! You law enforcement folk get all the same folks generally, just at different times. Pure fakes are rare for me...and i have zero problem working with folks with addictions and try hard to get them going in a little more + direction. A common refrain for me is nobody sets out with the intention of becoming an addict or alcoholic. The severe personality disorders or the hardcore antisocials are a different story though...tough to work with and needing to be in jail!

here's a joke for you- How many social workers does it take to change a light bulb?

One, but the light bulb has to really want to change!

Take a lot of pressure off my work! hah!

ha ha haaa....terribel..I know! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

RN,

You should have snagged that Ocelot at once.
Some Spydie Nutz go crazy for discontinued short runs like the Ocelot.

You could resell it and buy the other two! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

J,

That is one of the sweetest chunks of Stag I have seen in a while! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
Very nice piece. I'd be proud as punch to pluck that from my pocket!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

Well the big news is the new skeleton handled Scrapivore is finally shipping. I'm sorry. I just don't like skellies. Every time I buy one, it just sits in a drawer some place. Put a handle on the darned thing, and I am ok with small fixed blades. But I must admit, that Scrapivore is the prettiest skelly yet. And for you skelly lovers, it is probably the best or right up there. In blades that size, I usually go with folders. I have really been impressed with the ZT folders. I got a good deal on a ZT0350 recently. Dogs, let me tell you, it's a LOT smaller than the ZT0300. Much more pocket friendly, too.

I got the partially serrated version. Recently, I have come to appreciate the versatility of such a blade. Serrated blades are great for rope or webbing. And they work just fine for fuzz sticks and such.

I am really pleased with the little ZT. It is light, fast, and sharp. And unlike its bigger brothers, it is a good pocket carry knife.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Vic, I like the looks of that new ZT you have. I wish it would sit deeper in pocket though.

Jrod, what blade is that--love the stag handles!

Nice comparison pics,I didn't realize the 350 was that much smaller.
I just wish it had the 3D G10 like the 0200.
