I'll start this one off. This thread is for pictures of those rare SYKCO knives that were never offered in the store, such as some of the tan handled ones like this Yard Keeper.
[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]
Show 'em if you got 'em! Urban Mutts, tan S6s and Yard hooks, the unmentionable stainless ones, whatever!

I see three rare SYs in that pic, Jeff. The tan S6, Urban Mutt, and a sage colored blade on a YK.

Yea, I guess there is three, but there's only one of the "Black handled Urban Keeper", as far as we know anyway. It of course resides in another fellow dogs collection now. For that matter I don't have the Tan S6 anymore either...

To the best of my knowledge, none of those were offered in the store, so that makes them special and rare, like the "unmentionables".

I bet that one is the rarest of the rare, Chris. Yours is the only fully serrated one I have seen.

It's rare, but not as rare as this Scrap Yard Kukri Prototype seen only once at the Hiway 41 Roadhouse Knife & Gun Club.

I have 2 original CG S6s (without logos), two tan S6s from last Fall's Knob Creek, and 2 black CG S6s with logos from this Spring's Knob Creek -- Fall is fast approaching; I wonder what they'll bring me this time.

Got any pics? I've never seen a black S6 with the logo. Great knife.

I don't have a digital camera; I'll have to borrow my mother's sometime. I was a bit surprised when I saw them with logos (I'm looking at my receipt and those S6s were given the designation #248, $89.95 ea). I also picked up a tan yard hook last Spring at KC (a #250, for $119.95) -- I don't think they ever got sold online.

I think some of you guys are getting the words "rare" and "mythical" mixed up.

That Muppy drives me crazy in that pic because it is my JYD number.

This is a Rat not a dog but when I think of rare and desirable Bussekin knives this is the one I think of. There were only 4 or 5 made and you had to be a Combat Engineer in 2 CER ,23 Squadron with the Canadian Forces to get one.

Nice Aimpoint. I thought about getting one for my shorty, but mine has the carry handle on it. I guess it would still work ok being way up there above the bore so high. The little Chinese scope I have on it now seems to hit to point of aim fairly well at 40 to 100 m.

The KookDog is mythical, but I can see no reason why SY couldn't make one. Seems like all the fun stuff like big choppers and axes is coming from the other two Busse companies lately. Maybe we'll see some new scrappers soon, and hopefully they won't be too rare.

Lets see, I have a tan/sage yardhook.

I also have a logoless MOD7, I think there were only a few.
I bought it at the same show that Chris's chainsaw mutt was at(still kicking myself for not getting that one).
The thing is it was dirty like it had been used, so was the chainsaw mutt.
My theory is that they were the first two protos.

Dogs have been requesting one since the Yard opened.

Dan has said he wouldn't do to too much wasted material. Maybe Jerry will make a Basic HUCK

I want one (or four) DeReg handle SR101

Maybe theres a certain mythical hairy woods beast that can convince Dan of making one...the world could be ending

MM

I'm sure A mini Tal-whacker could be made of any Wasted steel...this is Scrap Yard dangit!!!!

I miss Vic. The last time I spoke with him he was sitting in a bar, and he didn't seem too interested in the Yard anymore. He had gotten married again, and I hope that things are going well for them.

Tom, I remember the knife Dan made for his Widow. Wasn't it a 711 he "Modified".

I think I posted something similar to this, but...

Scrapper 6 (S6) Not really sure how rare it is as no one knows how many Dan made. I do know that I will never part with mine unless something comes along I REALLY REALLY want worse which would be hard to do.

Randy, the knife was a Regulator with some engraving on it. Dan gave me the honor of sending it to his sister Karen; it was a great gesture on the part of Dan and Jerry Busse.

Yeah that's right. I KNEW it was a Regulator but for an OLD AGE reason typed 711. (DOH)!

So was this a hint that the new blade Dan's been secretive about is a Yard Kuk? Or was that just a cruel misdirect?

And will that be the reward for the million post mark? Or has that fallen by the wayside?

Well, we are now at one million fourth eight thousand seven hundred seventy six posts so I would guess a “reward” for one million posts is a wash.

Hmmm

Interesting

So Squatch has been influenced by the idea of a Res-C Kukri
