I am currious if anyone tried to fit the SOD in a BK7 or BK9 sheath? Seems like it might be a fit.

Interesting question AI.
I have a BK9, but am using the kydex sheath from a Becker Brute, so can't
help much, but this weekend I'll see how it fits in that sheath just out
of curiosity.
My brother has the original BK9 sheath (we swapped because he liked the
cordura sheath) so I'll ask him to bring that in to work on Monday and I'll
check that out for you as well.

Cheers

For $17.95 plus shipping, the 6" (really a 7") Scrap Yard Cordura sheath will fit the SOD just fine. It requires no modifications. I know that some said it would not fit, but it does. I'm looking at mine right now. The blade goes into the liner up to the finger guard, as it should. Or you can get a nice custom made one for more. The Cordura works fine and looks proper with a Scrapper in it.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

This is the Scrap Yard Cordura sheath that Horn Dog is talking about.
I got this from the Yard before the SOD came, and that's what it's sitting
in right now.

I have two just like that and they fit. Ted was generous enough to give these to me. Truly a great guy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

That is a good looking functional looking sheath. Looks like a nice pocket for some goodies to carry with the knife...thats a winner right there.

AI,
I told you that I had traded my cordura BK9 sheath to my brother for his
Becker Brute kydex sheath.
Well, I just had a chance to try my SOD in that sheath. It fit very nicely,
and I'm thinking that if it was 7 inches instead of 9, the SOD would have
a new to it pair of pants. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I haven't had time to take any pics, but will try on Monday. Also on Monday,
my brother is bringing in the cordura sheath for me to try out as well.

Cheers.

Thanks for the heads up!

I took my Becker BK9 sheath, and jammed the SOD in and worked it in and...it was snug but worked like you said. When I first tried it the insert kept coming out with the knife. It is not bad now, I can tolerate the extra length until I decide what to do. Compareing the BK9 sheath with the scrapper 6, what are your thoughts on where it rides, the functionality and layout of the two, I look forward to your thoughts.
