I got a few questions. One is about the forum and the other’s are about Scrap Yard Knife Co operations. I’ve looked through the FAQ’s and the “READ THIS! Rules & SY Info” thread but didn’t find the answer’s I was looking for.

1. Is there a way to subscribe to threads?

2. What is going on right now at the SY shop? Just taking orders? Making blades? Working on the S5 design? I’m very interested in how every thing works since I’m new around here. I understand the release and ordering process but I’m wondering what happens during everything.

3. How does Dan choose designs? Looking at past blades? Feedback from the forums? Do the Busse boys have round table discussions about what to produce?

I think that’s about it for now. I have two Scrapper 5’s on order and can’t wait to get them.

I would also like to add that I screwed up my order and Renee was very quick with emails and fixed my order. I felt bad making someone that’s swamped with work do more because I’m stupid. Sorry!

1. I don't know.

2. Unknown.

3. I know that Dan reads this forum and he has designed a few knives based on the posts here. After the YKLE came out, quite a few dogs requested a thinner CG version, and Dan delivered. The stainless models are of his own design, but several dogs had requested some stainless small knives, and Dan delivered. Many on this forum have been very impressed with the edge holding of Swamp Rat knives, but liked the Resiprene C handles that the old Swamp Rats had. With the Scrapper 5 in SR101, Dan delivers again. Nobody really knows much about the secret meetings between Dan and Jerry, but alcohol is involved.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I think I just figured out how to subscribe to threads. The little finger in the post extras field in the bottom left corner.

Sweet. Thanks. I just assumed we couldn't subscribe to threads.

All good questions and ones we have asked ourselves!

1. you got it!

2. we never really know, all of the above?! it's kinda a Busse secret (operations) I personally think their drinking JWB and making cookies <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

3. he has never told us how he chooses designs (I think after a long night of drinking he passes out and the gods (crom) puts visions in his head!)
but he does seem to listen to us sometimes and always makes us very happy.

Good Luck and congrats on your scores!

I just picture him passing out and the little scrapyard elves come out to draw up the designs.
