I'm just curious...How many folks here have made their own knife/knives? I hope this isn't inappropriate for this forum...

So, do you make them as a hobby? Do you sell them? What type of knives do you like to make?

I've made three kit knives so far and am about to start my first two "from scratch" knives. One out of 1080 carbon steel w/ Black Dymonwood scales and another out of D2 with blue G-10 scales.

Wow, very nice. We have some creative folks. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I hope I can do half as well as some of these....The most intimidating part is getting the blade grind correct.

I carved some knives out of wood. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

I've whittled a few out of wood too. And ground some out of slate. And eventually I'll pull together my casting project and have a copper knife (well, a dagger really)...
