Got a couple of Scrapper 5's coming so thought I would have some pants waiting for them. Made up a couple of patterns yesterday...the first a Type A sheath and then a sheath styled like the Randall Type C "combat" sheaths, as made for the Randall Model 14 in the 60's and 70's. Anyone have an opinion as to which style is most suitable for the Scrapper 5? Or suggestions for another style since I might pick up an LE also.

Thanks. Maybe a highride/dangler for the LE?? )

Yeah, think that's my favorite too...follows the blade shape better than the combat sheath. Here's a pic of the welt and layering.

Figure I will number them to match the serials of the knives when I get them. Might also stamp the sheaths with the "nomenclature' of the knife. But don't want it to be too many letters...what do you guys think? Something like "SY SC-5" or something similar??

Yeah, you've got a point...S5 sounds good to me. "Sy S5" / "xxx" looks more balanced anyway. )

Very nice sheaths - although personally I'd rather have 'em without the extra pocket, but that's just me. Do you do bulk discounts?

Yeah, I think the lighter brown one will be the most popular. For the Le I might go with one similar to the light brown one, but in a "dangler" style with no stone pouch and a leg tiedown tab at the bottom of the sheath. That would give the option of high or low carry. Firesteel loop on the side might be nice on the dangler.

I like those sheaths. For me, though, with a knife of this particular size, I think I would probably pass on the added pouch. But that's why there're choices in the world!

Yes, I always end up making some up without the pouch as some folks like the sheath to have clean lines. Pouch can be handy though as can carry a sharpening stone or a Doans Magnesium firestarter kit as they are the same size. Personally, I like having a pocket stone with me. Guess one could always be carried in the pack though....as long as you keep the pack with you. )

If you're selling these, I'm in for one like the brown one. I ordered a Scrapper 5 and it needs a place to call home instead of the inside of my safe.
