No I didn't know about that. I was wondering how it would work. I was considering the "field" strop.

So far I prefer the bat to the other leather strop that I have, I just ordered some compounds so I can reload this thing and a piece of the same leather they use to make a smaller version I can take with me

The strop Bat has 3 different "grits" and 1 plain leather right?

Yeah, the compounds are Black, green, pink(or white) then plain leather, its actually pretty amazing how only a little bit of time can get an already sharp knife to scary sharp

I'm gonna make a little 2 or 3 inch one to stick in my pack, much easier to keep up an edge that re sharpen, although I'm really liking Falkniven DC4 dual sided stone

I've finally gotten my Weiner and Muppy "Hair scraping sharp" but am just having a devil of a time getting it any farther. I've even stropped it on a note pad and that did smooth the edges some, but still not what I can do with a carbon blade.

I used it after New years to touch up my Ratweiler, I used it to chop up a christmas tree we burned at the party, I must have hit a rock under it cause the edge had a slight roll about an inch long, just ran it over it a few times and good as new

I've never had this problem with any knives but Dan's. All I can figure out is what ever magic he uses in his heat treat really toughens up the steel. AND my other SS blades are not as high a Rockwell hardness. That Is what makes the difference. They're tougher to sharpen in that they take longer because of the toughness.
