I am packing up the truck to take the runt camping and fishing. I have been gone for weeks and taken less gear than this little 1 1/2 day trip.

Well, I was all set for the hike and then went to find my good hiking boots. Of course Mr. Murphy stepped in and gave me a nice swift kick to the groin, I couldn't find my boots. So I'm stuck in my giant thick hiking socks and a 40 pound pack with no waist belt (my other mistake, but it didn't hurt as bad) with no good hiking boots. The only other pair of shoes I had that I could wear were my two year old boots which I've neglected for a year and a half, the zipper on the side is broken, the outer cover on the laces is coming off, the insoles have three holes in them (These are Bates military boots keep in mind) and the seams are starting to rip out. Needless to say, over the course of those 8 miles, my feet didn't like me very much. I have huge blisters on my heels and the balls of my feet. I came back to school and did a more thorough search, found them hidden away in the sprinkler tank room with a bunch of other muddy boots. What a pain. At least I still have them for my hike this summer.

Blisters are a pain. I keep getting them from the mats at Jiu Jitsu and they sting pretty good in the shower!

I plan on letting her reel in anything we manage to catch. Its a going back to basic trip. Worms and bobbers. No flogging the water.
