Great pics, and it sure looks like a nice time of the year to enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Thanks, guys.

Michelangelo, you can bring a fixed blade into the woods. I think the legal limit for a carry is 3.5 inches, but if it is a single hand opener it is illegal unless it is a multi-tool. You can carry bigger but only if it is considered a tool. The Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard I have are not considered tools here since they are weapons. I have a SR Ratchute Mandu which is considered a weapon since it has a double edge and my SY Regulator has been modded into a bayonet, obviously a weapon.

Thanks.
Here in Italy there is not a blade measure that make a knife legal or illegal. What matter is only the context: if you are on the woods, you may carry a 10" blade if you want, but if you are on i.e. a soccer stadium even a 2" blade forlder could be considered illegal.
Otherwise, all the knife with a double edge (a dagger, for example) are considered as a weapons, so you need a special permission to had and carry it out.

Great shots, JJ! I was out around the Zugspitze this Sunday. I was scouting for a place to snap some shots of my SOD. No luck, too many people around. I have only been collecting Bussekin for 2 1/2 months and none of my 5 knives are legal to carry. As far as I have been told 10cm is the maximum for a fixed blade. That's just shy of 4 inches.

Similar to what Michelangelo said above, it is not illegal here to carry an SOD on a camping trip in Germany, since it can be justified as having a purpose. Carrying one into a tourism area of a park would be an issue though. But mine can't be justified at all, double edge and bayonet.

Sounds like you need a Scrapivore then?

JJ, get in on some of the smaller blades like the Scrapivore, the Mud Puppy, Rat Warden (if still available), etc. Great items and should fit your situation perfectly.
