OK DAWGS, HERE IT IS FOR YOUR AMUSEMENT AND INFORMATION 2010, THE SHORT VERSION!

2010 THE SHORT VERSION (well sort of)

2010 Started off with Banana Clip making the fist post of the year with #358,264 on page 1381 of DC.
JAN 1 Ended with post 359,004 and a late night rally got Jared over the 300 post count hump!
JAN 8th 2009 started with post number 228,050 and ended with post number 358,261 for a year that gave us 130,211 posts! And just to show how far someone with way to much time on their hands can go, I went over 3K on this date as well. I guess I DO talk way too much. And to think that I just made JYD in December.
On Jan 10, Dan said this” WOW at this pace 2010 is going to be a monster...Boss Hog watch out here come the Dogs”
Feg 7th AND for those of you who might have missed it, Myke started a thread, RELEASE DAY. In it he broke down release times by the day of the week.
Feg 19th an Invite was given out to all the Dawgs. “Want a little excitement in your life. Tired of the same old day to day BS (that's Bumbling and Stumbling for you low minded folks, glad I had 10 minutes to think of a couple nice words to use)!
Any way, get up early or stay up late and join the "Night Shift" where almost anything can happen. We're not nuts, but we do run away from squirrels!
Feb 25 Dan announced the offering of the De-Reg at 0629 in post 337,236.
March 3rd saw this post "Dogs we have been working the technical clitch all day as well as real time as we speak. We will post as soon as technically possible. I apologize for this delay. I so want to sell you these cool knives that I cant stand myself...for that matter no one in the shop can stand me either as they told me most of the day
For the Dogs who remember when I went through the nightmare of buying/renting a dedicated server for this forum...well the haunting continues. Some things are missing from that orginal transfer and the techs are trying to figure out what piece to the puzzle are missing. Oh the fun we are having
There is plenty of steel to go around...you should be solid if you get in on the first few days if not even longer. I really ran the production on those mil. reg's
Hang in there, we are doing the best we can
Thanks
Dan"
Mar5th TONIGHT WAS THE NIGHT! Well THURSDAY night anyway. Regulators flying out the door. And who would have thought that they were throwing knives! Just goes to prove that Dan figures ALL the angles in order to bring us what we have asked for. Ok, let's see if I got this right (and I probably don't). Best as I can guess Dan made the announcement of ORDERS UP at 8:13 PM. the last order was made 5 hours and 45 minutes later. I THINK 53 knives were ordered. And that is just guessing when someone posted they ordered and the amount on those posts that did list how many they got. AND, one can only wonder how many were ordered and didn't post that they ordered one.

Mar 18th we had this confession from Tom. “I still remember the race for #1 - at first I wasn't too concerned about it, but the forum was getting to be more and more fun. I would actually wake up in the middle of the night and figured I would go for a few more posts. The fact that Gravelface and Paul the Brit were trying hard, with Andy thrown in for good measure sure helped. I just kind of "sniped" them!
Apr 6th Well Dan gave us the name, Ordawg1 gave us the Thread and made the first post. He just likes to leave his wiener lying around so anyone that comes by can fondle it all they want. Why his wife even likes the way his wiener feels in the hand! And our own number 1 leader of the pack Private Klink (Tom) made the first Oscar Mayer comment. I wonder if Dan had any idea how LONG this post would stretch out to. And he had to know that this pack of mangy dawgs would drag it out!
Apr 7th from Sunday (the 4th) until the 7th (Wednesday morning) there was a record 1352 posts made. I think this is the largest post run we have ever had for 3 days!
Apr 18th Wish you could have been there, scuse me for a minute, got some dust in my eyes! Death chat III is dead! Long live Zombie Chat!!!Well Death chat III ended it’s lifespan at 0647am on Sunday April the 18th, 2010 with a grand total of 2586 pages and 400,000 posts! EPIC! One minute later Cold One started the new Zombie Death Chat.
May 15 our own Tonester became a married man
Jun 2 Dan announced the presence of The “Scizzy”, Scrapyards very own Scrapazashi sword!
Jun 30 the KNIVES forum side of the site made it to 400,000 total posts and Cold one (chris) made it to 15,000 posts.
Jul 25 The Zombie Death Chat died due to technical difficulties at 0844.
Jul 28 The NEW ZDC 2 started life as of 0219 by and with Horn Dog making the first post. Way to watch out for us Vic!
Sep 24 Dan puts up videos of the Scrapizashi for everyone’s pleasure!
Sep 26 we were given a look at the number 1, the very first Infi blade, the Battle Mistress, and DAN has it! We also learned that originally Dan was going to name his knife company “Daniel Wayne Knives”. That would have been a VERY good name, but somehow ScrapYard Knife Works just has the indestructible ring to it!
The VERY FIRST POST ON THE SITE was on September the 8th 2006
Oct 1 Dan asked if anyone had any ideas about “something special” to celebrate the 500 Thousandth post.
Oct 14th Our VERY FIRST JYD #1, Private Klink (Tom) the man all others will always fall in line after, passed 17 thousand posts!
Oct 15th, we had this . The VERY first JYD, number 1 himself Tom, Private Klink was made a JYD on September 29th 2006. AND THIS WAS ON DIALUP!!!

There was a total of 3 JYDs in all of 2006
In 2007 there were a total of 47 JYDs
In 2008 there were a total of 10 JYDs
In 2009 there were a total of 46 JYDs
And so far in 2010 there have been a total of 17 JYDs
IN ALL we now have 123 JYDs with more births rapidly approaching!
That's a lot of litters Dan, you should be Proud!

Oct. 16th: THE SCRAPIVORE HAS ARRIVED!!
Yup, Dan ended our torture and announced the birth of the new ScrapYard SCRAPIVORE NECKER! Check her out, she's gonna be purty even with the clothes on that Dan said would be available. BUT knowing his Dawgs, he put her up Buck Naked! Oh man look at those lines, the slimness the fantastic curves. AND she has a real useable head on her, not one to JUST be pretty.
Oct. 24th our own mcjhrobinson posted pictures of his NEW TWINS, one of each, a boy and a girl congrats Matty!
Nov 3rd. Today will go down in history. I'm talking about the mid-term election. THEY say this is the biggest controlling party switch in the House of Representatives since I believe 1948! We can only hope and pray that this "New Crowd" does what we put them in office to do. If not, things will change dramatically again, in two more years.
Nov 7th. Announced beginning of the return to Standard time.
Nov 13th. History, once again was made in the Yard. Yesterday, 12 November 2010 the Satin finished SCRAPIVORE LE was put up in the Company store for sale. And Dan promised that the CG version was not going to be far behind. So you will be able to quickly take your pick, plain steel or Coated! Dan, the Man with the Plan!
Nov 26th. Chris (Cold One) and his wife will begin their trip to warmer climes today, and I believe he said a 6000 click journey!
Dec 15th We had two Dawgs blast into the 18,000 Post realm! Our own number 1, Leader of the Pack Tom (private Klink)was the first to achieve this milestone, and I tagged along for the ride. And Dan announced (on the 14th) the Scrapivore Le is no longer available for order.

Dec 31st Sumoj275, Jeff, made it over the hump. He went to a 5 figure Dog! Jeff ended the morning with 10,011 posts, and he MAY get even more before the day is over!

2010 ENDING POST
Ok Dawgs 2010 is at an end for the entire United States except for Alaska and Hawaii (sorry guys). So I am going to go ahead and post the closing remarks to this thread and then later in the morning I will start the 2011 thread!

2010 ended on a good note with well wishes from and to everyone. Dan gave us all his best and said he has a great year planned for us. Thank You Sir Daniel!

Ok the ending numbers are:

Outdoors and Fieldcraft half of the site ended up with 19,583 posts to end the year.

The Knives Forum ended it's 2010 run with 439,979 posts.

The ZDC forum default page count ended the year with 901 pages.

The total post count for 2010 ended at 463,970 posts.

OK, using our years end post and subtracting it from our goal leaves us with 36,030 posts to go brfore we get to the Half of a Million Milestone!

** I forgot to add that during 2010 we racked up a total of 105,706 posts or an average of 8,808.833 posts per month or put another way 289.605 posts per day!

Not a bad year, but the best is yet to come. LONG LIVE THE NEW YEAR!
