Looks like a nice and useful little light, I'd buy one if the price is right.

I didn't see the price on this SH?

Skunk, I ordered one of the Nitecore TIP flashlights for the wife's key ring. Gonna tell her I bought for her on your recommendation, so be prepared to receive a "Awwww how nice" or "Skunk is a #@%!@$^ jerk" review.

Haha, with MY luck, it's a good think I live a long ways away! I was going to order one of the TiP flashlights when I saw a video on the Mecarmy light. I think I MIGHT get that one now. Don't get me wrong, I REALLY like the nitecore light but the Mecarmy might be more versatile what with the three different light beams, White-red-UV. I'm still not 100 percent sure though. I do like the longer run times of the nitecore light though.

I kept getting it wrong, the Mecarmy light is a White, Red and ULTRA VIOLET (UV) light, NOT IR as I had incorrectly stated. Sorry guys.

The Mecarmy SGN3 light has three power levels in the white lite mode
1. 160 lm for 1 hour
2. 50 lm for 3 hours
3. 5 lm for 13 hours

I like the run time on the Nitecore and the Surefire. Of the two, I probably like the Nitecore runtime (Plus having an extra intensity level) the best EXCEPT for that 1 lumen low intensity.

BUT I like the extra two lights (The Red and the UV) on the MecArmy. BUT I am not real happy with the run times.

I mean, realistically, how often would you REALLY need 300 or 360 lumens from a light this small? Is it nice, YOU BET, but I suspect the 150 lumens of the Nitecore and the 160 of the MecArmy would get a lot more use that the 300 and above.

Now, would the high lumens and the "Extra" setting on the one light make it more versatile than the one with the 3 different lights? THAT is what I am trying to figure out. Do I go with High Lumens and run time or do I go with the three different type lights?

Pretty sure the red light is to preserve your night sight. If you waved a red light around it would still be seen, why we threw the poncho liner over our head reading the map before turning on the light. White light would make your pupils contract and time to readjust to night.

The IR is useful for hunting, since I could never see the blood very good at night.

I know, on THAT side of the house, how often do you really need a red or a blue light/UV.
