Thanks! I shot him on the opener here in MI, a couple of bozos shot him with buckshot and were following him about 100 yds back when he passed by me headed into a thicket about to disappear forever. I smacked him behind the shoulder with the old .50 cal Knight's smoke pole about 10 ft. before he disasppeared and saved him from an unpleasant death.

It's a Carhartt hat and yes it is pretty warm. I gotta say that lately I've been more into the natural clothing materials, though. Really liking wool at this point for outdoors wear...

I forgot to mention that the bozos who shot that deer only managed to get three buckshot pellets on him. One in the neck, stomach and ham. Definitely were way too far away to ethically shoot if you're seeing that much spread.

To anybody who's thinking about using buckshot on deer or other large game, think about using slugs instead or get close enough to put all the pellets delivered into the vitals. Sloppy hunters wounding deer is just sad.....

Oil doesn't really have any anti-rust compounds, mainly just works on the principle of oils repelling moisture/water. You should check out Eeezox Knife Care, you'll never have to worry about rust again.

That custom would look great with a dark black blade, too. Love that look of a black blade on tan handles.

It will have to wait until spring as it is 5 deg right now so no opening of the windows. Lol
