I can only second a kukri, if the handle is the basic handle!
That is the way it works, right?! We ALL have to agree on the layout of the knife before Dan makes it...?

I think a kukri from the Yard would the ULTIMATE camp knife. I have a CS Gurkha Kukri and its an unreal chopper--it cuts like a katana! But would I trust my life with it...probably not. I've read accounts of them breaking or the handle coming off. If I have to go to the grave with one of my knives, its the Camp Tramp (currently my biggest [except for Scizzy] and bestest Bussekin blade)...until I spring for a 911 or Dan comes out with the
SCRAP KUK!!! I'll pay $300 for it with a smile on my face.

the khukri popped my big knife cherry. i'm quite critical when i get my hands on one. I had many, now i'm down to two.
if dan made one, i suspect his best bet would be to clone the 15" BAS and not the zilla, which in my opinion is much more trophy than tool. you can get better choppers for less money.
if dan can get 3" broad stock at 3/16" thick, machine a mild curve, and plenty of forward weight in the belly, it will work. they'll be practical and productive.
i wish we were allowed to post drawings. this is the one area in the knife kingdom i feel like i could help him.
