I hope that the "evil" gun loby groups IE NRA ect.... can have enough pull to keep this from going forward I know they have the support of most people who think for themselves, but I wonder if there are enough of us left.

I am going to disagree with the Ar15 as a home defense weapon because of only aspect, and I might be wrong. PLEASE let me know if I am.
Most folks that have the AR15 will use FMJ rounds. This I feel will be conducive to over penetration, something that is NOT wanted in an environment where houses are close together or complexes where the walls are paper thin. I think the semiauto pistol is the choice for in the home but sometimes you need protection for the home as in the mob situations that he discribed.

The AR-15 is a great home defense round. But not with FMJ. FMJ is a practice round or what is required by the military.
We actually went fron MP-5's to an AR platform for SWAT work because of the lack of penetration in close quarters with the correct rounds. There are also some other benefits.
Its a darned good choice especially if you are on a budget and can only afford one.
Fragmenting rounds have incredibly low penetration on something other than meat.

Greaser, I would think there are enough of us left, but alas we don't all actually say something to those in D.C. PLUS it is highly possible they will vote out of a sense of "keeping the party line" instead of what is right and just. Something that seems to pass by many of them.

read the first page... I agree with his points.
i will say i don't think those instances he mentioned make up a very large percentage of firearm assaults. obama did say that it was cheap handguns he felt was the problem. anitgun and alike don't leave much room for focusing on the real problem that's form sure.
pretty sure it's not no guns and also pretty sure it's not a gun in everybodies hand at all times.

OK, I thought that would be the argument. And I AGREE. But I was just afraid most folks would pick up cheaper FMJ rounds.
Now, Fragmenting rounds. Are you talking Glassers and such or are hollowpoints also included?

No not everyone should be alowed to own guns but everyone should start out with the right to own one.

No not everyone should be alowed to own guns but everyone should start out with the right to own one. I agree on this. They loose that "Right" only if they have proven they can not be trusted with it, for a multitude of reasons. And THAT brings up a whole new can of worms. WHO will be responsible for saying what those reasons are. Oh some of them are no brainers.

Frangible rounds are best in a close quarters setting then soft and hollow points. each differnt round will have different characteristics. Look at the box o truth for some of their tests.
If you get a chnace to test your ammo on drywall I suggest you do. No matter what type of ammo you have you still have to have regard for where the round may go.
