pic credits to messer454 IIRC and yes, they are nice.
I think you're right; Jerry (Messer454) was taking pics at Blade. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Are any of the 11's full height flat grinds ?
I'm liking the look of the 411 but the choil on the 311 is crazy...you lose about a third of the blade, they should definitely re-think that one !

Looks great eh....pretty much what I suggested in my thread about a YardKeeper with Wardog handle....just imagine it with 154 CM instead of INFI on the blade.....oh yeah and about 4 times cheaper ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I really like the look of the 311 from the Yard. Honestly the 311 from the swamp is my favorite based on looks.

But would you will say that if the 311 Yard blade had no choil, it doesn't need one due to the great design of the mudder handles and IMO it would then be even better than the Swamp blade ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

It is the first in the 11 series being released by scrap yard knives(my heroes). The swamp hasn't released one yet pre orders for the ruk and busse took orders for the basic 6.

Re: Side by Side - 08/11/11 02:55 AM
I'll pass on the SYKCO 311 with that choil and relative size to handle. Don't think it will do anything that my Mud Puppy won't do. However the Swamp's 311 could be a classy little edc, especially with some black/red G10.
I'm planning on the rest of the Scrap Yard line up with the possible exception of the 611. The regulator handle just doesn't seem to interest me on smaller blades.
I feel the same way about the Regulator handle; it's better suited to bigger blades. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> There are folks who love it, so to each their own. There's enough new blades coming out to suit just about everyone! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I want all of the Scrap Yard 11 releases. If I was going to pass on any of them it would be the 311 because I have so many smaller knives from numerous different makers, but one can never have too many big blades. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
There ya' go --- a true Yard Dog!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I still think the ultimate chopper would be a 10-11 inch regulator with the 6.5" reg blade profile. let's have a test team on this one Dan!

sf45, you're not the only one! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
I cannot stop dreaming about the 711, that blade is sooooooooo sick. I am just prayin that it has at least a 1/4" spine if not more to split wood like a champ. That or the 911 will be the best survival/camp/batoning blade ever if it is more than 1/4" thick, 5/16" would be great, 1/3" will be AMAZING. Ill take that blade to heaven or hell with me as im bound to end up in 1 of those places I just hope wherever I go there is camping and a need for an awesome blade like that.

Basic 10 LE by Busse Combat sold out in Sept? I believe.
And the Rodent 9 from Swamp Rat Knife Works is or was for sale.
I'mnot sure if the Busse & Rate lines will be named 911, etc. - will Swamp Rate have a Rodent 9 and a 911?
And isn't the Basic 10 LE the 1011 version for Busse?

I'm thinking it must be their 411 with a 4.5" blade.
If one were to extrapolate the costs of the Scrapyard line as: <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
SYKCO
311/70
411/80
511/90
611/100
711/120
911/140
One might postulate the Swamp Rat line as: <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
SW
311/130
411/140
511/150
611/160
711/180
911/200
This would be my best guesstimation. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

I'm really looking forward to that RODENT 04. It will make a great alternative to the BUSSE Boss Street...if it turns out .1875 or less.
I'm not much into smaller knives, but that Busse Basic 4 looks pretty sweet. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I think Dan didn't get the right feel from the proto... As I recall they back and forth on the 311 design before settling on the basic handle.
Also, the 311 proto didn't receive many positive responses to its picture... That may have made Dan go for a change in design.
As for the 411; don't worry. It will be as portrayed.
