SOOO I guess the world IS gonna end in 2012

Why you ask? Because this will be the year I actually become debt free :-) I Did my taxes and I am paying off all my debt and getting myself on a road of financial freedom which will only last till Dec 21st. If I remained in debt the world wouldnt end and id still be stuck in the same poopy place that I am now and I REALLY wanna move forward and not spend foolishly like in the past (except for a few choice blades along the way)

Congrats on getting debt free. I wish I could say the same thing, but it ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

The way I look at it is there is a difference between debt and DEBT. I have lines of BS credit that have hurt me more than helped me. I have loans that I am paying way more in the long run than what the original borrowed amount is for. Now if I had mortgage debt, I would be happy with that as I would have the home to show for it. All my debt has accumulated over the last 6 years and while not a tremendous amount and def not s deep as some other people I would rather save that extra $450 +- a month instead of giving it away with nothing to show for it.

That makes sense. I don't have any credit card debt, only my mortgage and my wife's vehicle payment. It'll be a while before those are paid off. I MAY go in debt for a motorcycle in the next while, but that's not certain right now. I'll probably just wait til spring and pay cash for one.

Alot of my issue is I did not have alot of cool stuff growing up so when I had the opportunity to get my hands on good stuff I never thought twice which led to my current financial situation. Ima knock it out though and not repeat the same mistakes. I REALLY want a house

In all honesty I am not concerned with the other releases. I am jumping on the 711 and IF by the Grace of God Swamp Rat ever brings out the M7 I am jumping on that as well. The only other knife I would like is an older SR Ratweiler.The SR M7 is my personal grail and I WILL have it if it ever comes out.

I hope you make your plan work man . But it's easy to understand where you're comming from too . It's nice to have stuff , sometimes . I went through that stage too . Lived like I was making 4 times what I was . Fun for a while , hard after though . On the upside , if you can clear your personal debt it's a great time to buy a house there in the U.S. these days . I wish you luck .

I am going to make it work. It wasn't that I was struggling its just I saw where such a large portion of my cashflow was going and I KNEW I could put it to much better use. I am trying not to be so frivolous in my spending and actually try to save for the things I want instead of "Oh I want that, let me buy it now" I need to get the discipline to be able to hold back. I am sure that as I see that nest egg/rainy day/savings $$$ pot grow I will feel more confident in never going back to my old ways. I have the plan in my head and I am viciously putting it into effect :-)
