busse extravaganza - 10/16/06 06:27 PM

Did anyone score anything from busse this past saturday?
I saw at least a half dozen models I was going to go for, but decided to hold off, right before 9:00. I felt I should save my funds for the soon-to-be-hopefully-released bowie.
Any of you score

I scored the ones I wanted at Knob Creek so I didn't have to participate in the Ganza.

Still have a big ticket (to me) item on order from the production side of their company and wanting to buy some stuff here and from Dan and Patti's in-laws, so I was leaving the Extravaganzaa open for you, Rooikat. Kind of disappointed that you didn't take advantage of one less snout in that trough.

And those mansions and monsters trucks I specifically didn't buy either. And that vacation in Europe I didn't take...

I really liked some of those tan blades. The tan camp tramp was calling me, but the ghost of bowie future outshouted it.

"Some" of what I wanted....that blue g10 set was looking really nice, but I wouldn't have had the weavos to buy it. And those aluminium AKs were really nice, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. I did get what was reasonably in my reaches though.

Haven't gotten any confirmations yet if I scored, keeping my fingers crossed. Now what about that beautiful straight handle SH with G10 scales?? eyecandy!

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/17/06 02:33 AM

Gravel....I guess for my wallet's sake it is good that I am a sensible/poor man...What I REALLY would have liked to do is e-mail Amy when the go button was shown and just said I wanted one of EACH!!! hehahahahahaaa

But my taste's are simple these days...And I get to play with alot of different knives so all is well...BUT a GW and a couple of others and my life would be well for a couple days..

but I digress...

That ak is a sweet knife...Think we can talk Dan into making a scrappy version for us dog's??

Ohhhh, that would be so cool. I love the AK, but it's way unaffordable for me.

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/17/06 03:02 AM

The standard version is a stretch, but that aluminium handled one is just way out of reach!

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/17/06 12:40 PM

Didn't Eric mention that you bought up everything?? (

Went for the Skinner and Howler but it was probably too late. Actually it wasn't late it was 4am in the morning at my place. We need a Ganza that starts a bit earlier for the people on the other side of the world.

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/18/06 01:10 AM

The AK was my first Busse purchase. Nice blade, especially in tan/tan finish.
Goes well with my tan handled satin BR, and, of course, will go especially well with....
a nice tan handled scrap yard bowie!

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/18/06 01:16 AM

Nice blades Rooikat!!!! I really want one of those AKs, but can't see a single use for one...not that that has ever stopped me from buying a knife, but I like it!

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/18/06 02:28 AM

Yea I am trying to figure out a reason to buy one as well...I really hate economical maturity!

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/18/06 03:16 AM

A machete! I've been using Rats so long I forgot how crappy regular steel is. A couple weeks ago I was clearing some brush in the yard with my US machete. The brush was really thick, and I slightly hit a rock I couldn't see and dinged/flattened the edge pretty bad. As I looked at it, I thought, "If I had an AK, this wouldn't have happened."

It'd make a nice home defense toy as well.

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/21/06 04:47 PM

Andy,
The only AK's I think of as a home defense weapon is either my homebuilt Romy AK or my Himilayan Imports 15" AK...:)

I also have a chainsaw handy for the particularly naughty

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/25/06 05:44 PM

Nothing beats the trusty old twelve-gauge shotgun for home defense !!!

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/25/06 06:56 PM

I have been eyeballing a saiga-12....8 rounds of 12 gauge Semi-auto goodness!
http://www.saiga-12.com/ and it is based off the AK reciever...see 12 guage and ak...great combo!

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/25/06 08:13 PM

Shotguns for the win!

If the Busse Combat folks write back that all of the H Razors sold out, I'm going to bug GravelFace to sell me his scrumptious pink H Razor.

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/25/06 08:21 PM

..........red........it is RED, you folks know how to strike a nerve....next person who calls it pink, I will send it to your house for inspection!

The Game Warden was advertised as RED G10 ...not PINK g10, same rulw applies here

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/25/06 09:42 PM

Aside from wanting such a knife as an H Razor with red g-10 scales, I was just teasing. Hope you note that I always address you as GravelFace and not the more ambiguous GF.

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/25/06 09:57 PM

No one appreciates being Gravelface more than me......though I do get a kick out of geing refered to as "GF". As when someone states they will be taking the "GF" somewhere....I feel like asking them when I can expect them.

Re: busse extravaganza - 10/25/06 11:30 PM

Yea a little bit of both!!

GF...For the Saiga 12 goto the saiga forums and let your mind run free with all the mods that have been done to those...If I didnt have my Mossy 590 I would prolly jump all over one myself...I "might" get one next year sometime if I decide not to do the 2 other AK builds I got planned

Re: busse extravaganza - 11/01/06 06:42 AM

I went to a Gun Show this weekend and found one.....didn't have the 360 they were asking for it and the best the local pawn shop will do is 390....I am going to sell a knife or 2 and get one...except the fact that the 8 round mags cost close to 200 anb the whole damned thing isn't but 360.....so I will settle for a few 5 rounders.....Man you could to some custom work on those.....oh happy new project!!!
