Is Elmax steel good in a 3/16" thick, 8" blade? And what's the next release?

Elmax is a great steel for a slicer. An 8" blade has been talked about. The next release, and most likely going to show up on the ganza, will be the knife we had at the blade show but with a 1 inch longer blade along with a 3 inch blade with a wider blade...very cool

Is Elmax a proprietary steel name like SR101 or SR77? I trust you judgement but I'm just wondering. I didn't know other companies could use it...

No Elmax is made by Bohler-Uddeholm. It is a powdered metal. What is unique is the heat treat process that we developed...we get more performance than can be expected

When I found the Yard the Muk was in the store I didn't think it was for me. Ended up coming back for the S5 and picking a Muk off the X waiting. My favorite blade next to the TT Regulator.

I left in 2000. California has the best weather and land of any place I know of. Problem is, you can't afford to own any of it. That is where Texas shines. Problem with Texas is that it's ALL private land, and HOT as haides.

Austin is the best city (town) in Texas. Lots of diversity, good live music, good people (hippies and billionairs alike). The thing I like best about Austin is that you can wear shorts into restaurants....and see some dude wearing shorts and think he's a nobody, but he's an exec worth millions. Very laid back atmosphere, not alot of "show". However, that has changed some in recent years...but overall it's still laid back in comparison. NET NET...I look like a millionaire, but I'm not, ROFL. Ok, need to slow the drinkin...

Dan, the smaller, wider blade is destined to be the ultimate dear cleaning blade. I am super happy to see a bit of a drop point, nice belly (but not too much), 3", anorexic, SYKCO that isn't swept back like the Wiener / Bird Dogs. This looks to act like an exact extension of the index finger for getting up close and personal with some carcasses <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
