So with the new FDM coming I am really stocked. I find my knife tasks to be growing into mostly hunting and I am always cutting brush and small sapplings and grasses to " brush in " and or make blinds. Been using my Basic 11 and Battle Rats and they work good but on the real small thin stuff I gotta think the 1311 will do great being 3/16, I almost bought a JUNGLAS for this but will wait for the 1311 plus it's longer and Res-c. It's like Dan read my mind on this one!!

I have been "almost" buying a Junglas for years but I just couldn't see it replacing my EESE-7 or RAT-7. I also carry a Spydie Rock Salt and a Yard Hook. It seems that the 7 inch is my favorite carry size.

I just wanted something that would replace a 12 or 14 inch machete and still do "big knife" jobs like chopping better than a short machete would.

I have a Junglas and had a Becker Patrol Machete (BK6) -- did some comparison chopping and sold the BK6.
I am really looking forward to the FDM/MOAD to see how it compares.

If you want a GREAT 7", try the 711! Or break down and get a chopweiler. The all-time-best 7"-er there is. That's objectively speaking, by the way

I THINK the Ratweiler is just older version of the Chopweiler, main difference I THINK is the handle shape.

The Junglass has also tempted me some, but I am afraid I would feel let down by the 1095 steel, when knowing how much better the SR101 performs.

Well I have used my Camp Tramp and find on small light brush it's not really efficient but will get job done. On saplings it works great but the light stuff not so... And I do have a chopweiler in route!!! So excited!!!!!

Really not much is out there on the taz rat? No reviews or any comparisons showing what it can do

The Tramp chops great. But machete work it's not all that great.

I'll go ahead and put an order in for a 711... I don't have a lot of HEAVY chopping to do - I just like the reach of the bigger blades. But a sharp seven inch does come in handy when you never planned for it.

I chopped down some bamboo that was getting out of hand on my road and a few vines that were in the fruit trees. That's about all I do but I do it everytime I head out the back of the house.

I just googled it. Chop off: Camp tramp vs Chopweiler.

Most people seemed surprised that the CT did so well, the Chopweiler outweighs it by 5oz. They were pretty close though. It seems like it would come down to handle preference. If anyone is wondering I would get the 7-11 (its in the store) and then try for a Choppy if you still are on the hunt
