SYKCO 1311 Takes on BWM

I had lot of chopping and burning to do yesterday. Perfect Fall weather. So I let the BIG DOG out of its cardboard sheath again. It was a chopping, burning, feeding frenzy. First the BWM.


10 Strokes for the 1311, 13 for the BWM.


I did several other mini-chop offs in the course of the day. The 1311 Big Dog prevailed easily. This knife holds an edge like nothing I have ever chopped with. After chopping all day, it still is shaving sharp!




Day is done. I used the 1311 to make some skewers to roast hot dogs. Time to relax a bit.

I just wrote "Horn Dog" on the blade with a Sharpie. I was just messing around. I think the right name for the 1311 is the Big Dog, because Dan Busse, the Big Dog, designed it. Except for swords, it's the biggest of the dogs. I used that 1311 a lot yesterday, having put a super edge on it, I felt it was fair to compare it with my convexed BWM. No doubt about it, the 1311 out chops even the mighty BWM. The 1311 was still shaving sharp even after chopping all day with it. The 1311 is a joy to use.

That's the truth, gun dog. Yesterday was a non-electronic day. I didn't even watch the Georgia football game. Being out in the fresh air and then having my loved ones and friends around to share the fire was great. You should have heard the hoot owls last night. So many nights I waste watching TV or something. Last night was so peaceful and fine. I feel blessed.

I have only had the 1311 a short while, but it is already my 1st choice for yard work. I used an Ontario Survival bowie for years, then the DF, then the DFLE, some goloks, then the BWM. I need a sheath for this beast. All of you who are awaiting your own 1311s will be well rewarded. This beast was made for using, not looking at.

Dealing with teens can be challenging. Linda is attending the local college and living at home. She and Kirsten are best freinds. She has the oldest Dad of anyone she knows. I was old when she was born!

That means she has the wisest father around <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> whats she studying for? My older sis just got her degree in accounting.

Very cool comparison, I can't wait to see how the 1311 does compared to a B11, FBMLE and TTKZ, I won't be at all surprised or disappointed if the 1311 is the best of the bunch. Soon...

I got rid of my "heavy" choppers, like the KZ, FBM fatty, and even the FBM. Light and fast works for me. I prefer them under 22 oz.

Awesome! I assume the BWMLE has been convexed? And the Big Dog still out chops it? I so can't wait for my 13. The wait is torture.
