Heart Healthy 'Crock-Pot' Nutria

2 hind saddle portions of nutria meat
1 small onion, sliced thin
1 tomato, cut into big wedges
2 potatoes, sliced thin
2 carrots, sliced thin
8 Brussels sprouts
1/2 cup white wine
1 cup water
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup demi-glace (optional)

Layer onion, tomato, potatoes, carrots and Brussels sprouts in crockpot. Season nutria with salt, pepper and garlic, and place nutria over vegetables. Add wine and water, set crockpot on low and let cook until meat is tender (approximately 1-1/2 hours). Garnish with vegetables and demi-glace. Makes four servings.

The video claims they taste better than steak??!?

Speaking of rats, I will have to do another jihad against the tree rats. Susan and I planted tomatoes this year. These are the scrawniest squirrels I have ever seen. Even with the corn Susan has been feeding them, they are barely snack size. They are hardly worth skinning. Maybe I'll use the 17 HMR on them and blow them up. Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms. But I am eating the tomatoes.

Rabbits are the culprits around here.

I went to the theater every Saturday and Sunday for 6 weeks straight to see Star Wars back in 1977. I think I saw it something like 15-16 times before I ever saw it on VHS.
