My sons first BLADE show and blade.

Ok my son is 6 but he is a go getter. We headed off to blade and I told him he could get on knife that would be his first. I ask him if he wanted one that fold up or a not. He said one that folds. "Dad A red one with a Spyder on it" I thought to myself cool $30. We get there and he wants every knife. Mostly any zombie green ones so I was thinking mybe a zombie green 311 would be a great knife for him. Ok mybe ill spend $75. Then the offering happend. That was it he was tring his heart out to get one of those pices of cardboard I figured somone would let him get on. Especially when I was saying he kneeds a hairy Kerri because that's his mom. Didn't work. Well when it was done he was heart broke that he didn't get a card. Dan the great man that he is say him and started talking to him told him that he saw him trying to get a card and was impressed with him that he was did good. Then he walked away, buy this Time klink was with us. Great to meet him also. Dan came back and gave my son Hunter a hog head and asked if he has somwhere to put it myson put right on his 550 witch he wares out in public with a Whistle on it that he is to blow if he can't find us or somone grabs him. Well then somone came over and handed him a card his eyes light up. I ask what it was the guy said I don't know. I was really hoping a hairy Kerri. But it was a rodent 3 custom. O boy did he want it. We walk around I tried to see if he wanted the red Spyder no the zombie green 311 no. He wanted the R3 with dragon stripes. I had to get it for him so he left with it. We are in the prosess of making a sheath for it now. Man what a show. He got a great first blade. Went from $30 to $150 buy the end of the day put it was priceless.

Having never been to Blade, how does it work with the "cards?" Do they throw them in the air and it's a mad dash, or do they hand them out to people in the front of the line? Please tell me how this works.

That is so cool. Thing is, he will have that blade for the rest of his life. If you got a $30 one, he'd probably break it at some point and have to get another. Wise choice.

Every couple of hours they unveil a new knife. They throw the cards out into the air and people have to grab them. There are only as many cards as they have of that particular model. If you catch it you can buy it. If you don't catch you don't buy. If I learn how to post video I have a short clip I will send.

Ha I just Saw a tan and a brown handle 411 from blade on blade forum. Where do I get one. I didn't see them there at all. I hope we get a ganzza. Why is it so hard to get steel at blade show. Then you come home and the people start posting it for sale. Are are trying to make $. But others are only making a little a covering shipping and pay pal fees. Be nice if they would just play a little nicer.

You did the right thing. The memories of Blade that the two of you have are worth much more than the money you paid.

Way to go N2S! This was my son's first Blade show as well, and he was excited to buy his first Busse knife...the fat NMFSH with blue/black scales. But he's not six...he's 42.
