Well as Gomer used to say, SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE!

Got told I have one of these coming! Patty, after I told her I ordered a BGASH1 to quickly, that If I would have waited I could have saved myself about a hundred bucks took it upon herself to order me one! She gave up getting something she wanted so I could have this latest goodness from Dan the Dumpster Diving Man as she knows I have a soft spot for The Busse Boys Wares.

Yeah, I reckon I'll go ahead and keep her for a while yet. smile

Haha, I seldom let her off the pedestal I keep her on. I'm afraid she may meet someone like you or (shudder) Tom and think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. wink

She's almost 60 but I wouldn't trade her for 3 20 year olds!

When the TRASH1 starts getting into our hands, someone please weigh one so I can put it in the knife specs thread.

I don't have access to anything but drug scales and they don't weigh in pounds! smile

I can't wait either... I've wanted an ASH for quite a while, and then the TRASH-1 popped up and I dove in puppy paws first! Yea!!!

Re: Congrats To All The Dogs Getting A TRASH1 - 10/22/15 08:10 PM

I'm super excited to get mine, I'm a general contractor and can see using that beast to chop some unruly 2x4s or pry a house off its foundation. Whatever the days stress requires.

I would imagine you'll be able to pick one up on the secondary market. Even if there's some markup you could probably still pick one up pretty reasonably.

I've got my BG ASH in but haven't used it yet, waiting to run it side by side with the TRASH smile

YUP, What Grog said.

Re: Congrats To All The Dogs Getting A TRASH1 - 10/23/15 02:58 PM

I hope I will be able to pick one up on the secondary market but my luck with that usually isn't very good. I'm willing to pay a little mark up but people usually go overboard on the mark up.

It never hurts to try and haggle over the price; the worst they can do is say "no". wink

Re: Congrats To All The Dogs Getting A TRASH1 - 11/21/15 03:03 PM

You know, after looking at the pictures closely I realized that the top (spine side) is kinda sorta one continuous curve from butt to tip. Also the handle has a slight downward angle from the "Choil" to the butt of the knife not straight like the ASH. This might well lend itself more toward the chopping/bushcraft usage than as a "Fighter". I know it was designed as an all rounder, but it will work in a pinch for just about anything. Just a couple things I noticed after looking at the comparison pictures.

Here is the Post I am talking about over at Jerry's forum.

I agree, should be a great all arounder. Wish I could have bought two. Destined to be a classic grail.

Re: Congrats To All The Dogs Getting A TRASH1 - 11/25/15 07:08 AM

YUP, it's lighter than the ASH, I STILL wish it was 3/16 but I can live with this. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE the way the ASH1CG feels but it's just to heavy for my girly hands.
Posted By: SkunkHunter

Re: Congrats To All The Dogs Getting A TRASH1 - 11/25/15 11:58 AM

If this thing was 3/16 inch thick instead of 1/4 I think it would be prefect! Oh and It fits in the smaller Cordura sheath they sold on the site a few years ago like it was made for the knife.

AND this just goes to prove Dan can't please everyone, no matter how much he wants to or how hard he tries. That said, this is a GREAT compromise/knife, one I will carry with pride and without the fear it may fail on me.

3/16 would be great or a TRASH variant with a Full Flat Grind

mines a keeper (user) for sure though

I'd be in for a 3/16" FFG Trash.

Re: Congrats To All The Dogs Getting A TRASH1 - 11/28/15 06:00 AM

I am a tough knife freak and can deal with the limitations the extra thickness has just to know I will never break it. That being said I did go for the leaner chopper in the last sale just because of the extra blade size over the Trash.

Re: Congrats To All The Dogs Getting A TRASH1 - 12/02/15 04:32 PM

I got mine last week, and it ROCKS!!!! laugh
The Res-C fits my hand very nicely, the blade shape is awesome and its a bit front heavy which I like. I'm gonna try it out choppin' veggies this week.
