What are your 3 to 4 favorite offerings from the Yard?
I want to look at having some always available blades on the site so your input would be a big help
Let me know what you think
Thanks

Re: Need Your Help - 05/24/19 06:49 PM
My top pick is the 411. Most versatile camping knife I have. Then the ScrapMuk for hunting. A Dogfather for defense and a 1311 for yard work.
1) Mud Puppy
2) Wiener Dog
3) 1311
4) War Dog
MM
If #1,2 and 4 are offered in SR101 instead og 154 or infi thats fine by me...although Elmax is cool as well
I'm sure the Dog Father and SS4 will get a lot of support...

Really the only one I can think of I am missing is the SS4. INFI (again) would be nice, but not a requirement. Oh and PLEASE something other (or at least other options) than black mudders.
OK, I missed one. See my post below reference the Muppy.

Re: Need Your Help - 05/25/19 02:04 AM
My most used are the S5, 411 and (Thanks to Dan) MUD mutt. BUT the 511 is fast becoming a fav as well! BUT, I am still sweet on the Muppy! Now If you would only make one with the exact same blade profile with the mudders BUT make the blade an even 4 inches, or 4.25 at the most.
If they do the Mud puppy I want a spear point!
I passed on the BG Active Duty do to change in profile
.145 wouldn't be bad though...

I feel like some things don't require a poll...
Dogfather and SS4...
My favorites are:
1) Scrapper 5. It’s rhe best general purpose knife I’ve owned.
2) Dogfather. It’s the best chopper I’ve owned.
3) Yard Keeper. Great little knife ... would be better in SR101.

WoW! blades always available!! (faints) Luv it Dan.
One of the things that made ScrapYard so cool, so amazing and so affordable is the "Toughness" factor you put in ... at a reasonable price.
Examples that come to mind are the S6 the Dumpster-Mutt and Mutt Puppy. Strong affordable blades that you can count on for anything (see video's) It's what first attracted me and my wife to SY. Greatness you can Afford.
I don't care how they look or what kind of shiny finish it has, things I will never/hardly use (safe-queens). I love SY because they can be used and can take it. I remember your pictures of how tough SY blades are and couple that with the price I was IN ... the Yard (bows & Salutes)

Re: Need Your Help - 05/26/19 02:05 AM
Had a DF, GREAT blade, but just heavier that what I felt I needed. Swapped it for a 911 (To Jarhead Journalist) and was much better satisfied and it has done all I ever asked of it. Now I also have a 1311 and YUP, don't feel as if I need a blade as thick as the DF (I also have my BWM to fall back on if I need it. Oh and I have my S6 (thanks to Architect) If I need a really good Combat blade.
So, the SS4 and a 4-4.25 inch bladed Gray mudder gripped Muppy would do me pretty well.

1. SS4

4. Scrapper-6

The DogFather could always be coated, but with LE specs
the Weiner Dog and SS4 are doing really well
There is a lot of love here for the SS4. I've never used (or even held) one so I can't comment.
I really liked the Yard Keeper because of the thin blade with a lot of belly. That knife was just a great general purpose user! I can only imagine it would have been spectacular in SR101...especially with a convex edge !
I forgot to mention, I gave my Yard Keeper to my uncle (he's a Firefighter with 22 years on the Department). That knife has been "used" extensively, and is still going strong.

1. SS4

I meant to change #3 to bird dog LE, so here is my list:
1. SS4
2. Yardhook
3. Birddog LE
4. Scrapper 6
I'd definitely buy a SS4, yardhook, and another bird dog LE if they ever came out again. I always thought a satin SS4 and a little thinner than the original would be an awesome knife.

Hello everyone,
I have two, a Muk and the 13-11. Love both of them.
The 1311 is a chopping monster. Good job as I don't think I hit the same spot twice.

Re: Need Your Help - 05/28/19 03:01 AM
I tend to agree with bc, just a mite thinner on the SS4. Say .160-.170 would be choice. I just don't think you need a full 3/16 inch thickness on a blade no longer than that. Just my two paws worth of course.

Weiner dog
War Dog (anorexic please)

Rich, good to hear from you again.
I looked at the specs for the SS4. I didn't know it had such a thin blade. I'd love to try one.

That would be the perfect thickness IMO. I would like to see it with a satin blade also. Yes, I think there was a thread on this a few years ago.
I would think any of the classic original Scrapyard knives would sell very well.

Hey B/C, good to hear from you again.
Thanks, PK, great to see you on here too. I was glad to see this thread, and to see Dan posting on here again. I really hope to see some more Scrapyards for sale, especially their classic models that made them so popular.
This last SYKCO offering is great... the Alpha Dog, and it is supposed to be part of a series. I am hoping for an 8" and 10" version as well.

Re: Need Your Help - 06/02/19 05:08 PM
It looks like a good knife. I still prefer Scrapyards original blades, DM, DF, SS4, YH, etc. Everything before the 11 series were my favorites.
Oldies but goodies!

The dog father has to be there. Is such a classic knife for the yard. Then something in the 4-5in blade range and a woods knife I’ve liked the thinner blades for those tasks

Looks like an Infi fat Regulator will be the next blade in Wauseon. Check out Jerry's post over at Bladeforums.
I received the Alpha Regulator email today.

Yup so did I. Don't really need anything that burly though OR that expensive. Now If any of Y'all don't have a good ole chopper, ya might want to save up your scraps for this one.

Re: Need Your Help - 07/10/19 02:59 AM
411--ideal hunting knife
Scrapivore--fantastic small blade (OFFER WITH DETACHABLE SCALES)
SOD or Scrapper 6 (Both fantastic midsize blades with heft and pizzazz. If we can't have a differentially heat treated S6, just give us the SOD...don't desecrate the memory of the S6 with a plain blade...unless it's INFI and available at original S6 prices!)
DF or MOAD--take your pick...I picked both. Both are legendary choppers and ought to be available to Dogs of all ages. Although PLEASE do NOT call it the "1311." It is the MOAD or nothing at all...
If I had to pick a runner up, it would be the Scrap Muk or the Bulldog Regulator. As much as I love the former, I'd prefer to see the latter

Ugh I need 5. Cant forget the Dogfather.........
The DogFather and LE versions are classics for sure!
Posted By: SkunkHunter
Re: Need Your Help - 08/31/19 02:33 PM
I had a Dog Father at one time. I could take the place of a small ax if you ask me. BUT I felt as if it were to heavy for my tastes so I traded it to an Active duty Marine in exchange for the at that time forthcoming 911. The 911 came out, and I shortly received mine WITH a kydex sheath he made for it. I considered it a good trade.
Now if it had been an LE (being lighter), I might have kept it.
Randy, as you're getting older your knives keep getting lighter.

I don't have a Scrapavore. But I DO have two Cupidvores one for Patty and yeah, one for me. I had three (bought a 3rd one in case a dog needed one), and one did. His daughter lost hers in Alaska. Sold it several years ago.
Randy, I have seen LOTS of pictures of Guardian Angels, and trust me, their wings don't look ANYTHING like yours!

Why thank you Ray. It also shows up better in the woods if you drop it than yellow or Orange.
Probably goes well with your pink pumps as well.

Pink Scrapivore LOL.
I do remember those and if I remember right they had them on the Cupidganza, and they were pretty cheap.
