How About Some Regular Scraps for the Yard?

How About Some Regular Scraps for the Yard? - 08/09/19 04:32 AM

How about it Dan? Can the Yard have a few regular offerings to keep us interested and buying blades when the need arises? I'd rather give you my money than someone flipping the same blade for 3x the profit. Keep the new offerings coming, but give us a little kibble in the bowl!

I'd vote for keeping in regular stock the:

-- 411

-- SS6

-- Bulldog Regulator

-- Dogfather

Open to other ideas. These seem to be some of the most versatile blades on the planet, based on what I've seen.

Some of the "classics" that might be marketable as "standard offerings":

711
Dogfather (SR101 version)
Scrapper 5
Yard Keeper CG (SR101 version)

Love to see some classic Scrapyards as standard offerings.

Dan talked about it a while ago, but it looks like he has been MIA on here for a month or two.

I could dig a Street Scrapper 5. It's the mudder grips that very me going with the 411

I'd say do one in every length!

The feel and the "Sculpting" of the Mudders just work.

The General likes her S5 so much that she keeps it in the bottom of her purse. smile

I DO NOT! It's clipped to the side so it doesn't get lost among all the tissues tweezers nail files and other necessities. Oh and lip balm. Can't forget the lip balm. grin

For a while I carried all the stuff I needed in my clutch bag. Course that was when I smoked a pipe. I had to carry the pipe, pipe cleaners, tamper and tobacco somewhere handy. wink Oh and that was when I was still active duty of course. We used to greet all the sailors when they flew in. grin

I felt all dirty when Randy was describing the mudders...

DT, from now on they will be referred to as "Ergonomic high traction grips".

But for you we'll make it easy and just call them EHT Grips. grin

What color “lip balm” do you use?

Re: How About Some Regular Scraps for the Yard? - 08/24/19 08:20 PM

I used to clip my Dogfather to the outside of my range bag until some cops me it looked “aggressive”. BTW, that’s why it was there. So I decided to carry it inside the bag. The Dogfather made for some nice conversations at the range. Caused more people to crowd around and ask about it than anything else I had except for my Kentucky rifles.

Uncle Vinnie and some friends will be visiting you tonight. Make sure you have plenty of cannolis, Sambuca and coffee. Good coffee. Not that instant crap. Hope you have a nice chat.

Re: How About Some Regular Scraps for the Yard? - 08/27/19 04:33 PM

Cannolis I know about. Coffee, all we have available is Folgers and maxwell house. Sambuca is a mystery to me, but I will look it up.

Instant crap? Is that when the Cats actually eat as in actually chewing up the Coffee beans instead of just swallowing them whole? grin

Re: How About Some Regular Scraps for the Yard? - 08/28/19 08:10 PM

Yes. They chew the beans and then drink water from the hot springs. Instant coffee crap.

Well, I have gone through some extensive medical testing in the last few years and have been certified to be communicative disease free. I am USDA approved and could look into being certified kosher if you need that but I am not halaal.

Re: How About Some Regular Scraps for the Yard? - 08/30/19 10:35 PM

We don't do halaal in this house. Although Couscous isn't bad.

Is there any chance the "11" series will return? I'm thinking especially an 1111.

Re: How About Some Regular Scraps for the Yard? - 03/08/20 07:56 PM

I like the 311, 511 and 1311. I have the 7 & 9 inch range covered pretty well with others, so I skipped the 711 & 911. I do wish I had an 1111 though. frown

Re: How About Some Regular Scraps for the Yard? - 03/08/20 08:02 PM

I have all the "11" series except for the 1111. Just couldn't make myself let go of George just to buy one for nothing more than a collector piece.

Yeah I know Tom, but as I stated elsewhere, had to buy a new phone, and Our fridge really needs replacing. We have had it since the middle of 1994 and it's starting to act up some. AND then we need a new storm door, and we should replace our old water stained spotted flooring... It never ends. But things that are NEEDED should come before things that are just wanted.

Wear out a Yard Blade! Folks been trying that for at least 3 thousand years and all they've done is scuff the finish.

As I mentioned in the Death Chat thread, Spring starts in the US on Thursday 3/19 this year, so how about a SY Spring Special? smile
An AR-15 knife (similar to the Alpha Regulator 9.5, maybe a little shorter & slimmer) would be awesome! grin

When I mentioned the idea of an AR-15 knife, I meant shorter in height, NOT length. So put a Regulator handle on a MOAB blade, and call it the "AR-15" - WOW! cool
