TNT Dingage? - 07/16/21 07:30 PM

I also have a ding. They said you will be “dinged” when shipping is within 30 days. Looks like we May all get some TNT-15 goodness soon! grin

Skunk
You really got dinged already?

Did you go Raw Dog or is your sword protected?

Re: TNT Dingage? - 07/18/21 06:25 PM

I had another dollar hit in my CC, so I am assuming (yeah I know) it’s for the TNT. Yeah, I went the bare asset wink version. AND I have already preordered a canvas mutant piece of plastic from David. grin

Re: TNT Dingage? - 07/18/21 10:59 PM

Nice!

I'm still wondering what kind of sheath I'll get.

Maybe an open spine...

MM
Posted By: SkunkHunter

Re: TNT Dingage? - 07/19/21 01:39 AM

PERSONALLY, I wouldn’t go with an open spine on a straight blade. If the strap is around the blade and the handle retention failed, the blade could very easily come out. Now in something like the Chophouse, where the blade itself has a “hump”, it would need to get past that as well.
Just my cent and a quarter (adjusted for inflation don’t ya know) wink

Re: TNT Dingage? - 07/19/21 02:27 AM

Good to know

I believe David has also said open spine is best for Kukri, etc

Re: TNT Dingage? - 07/19/21 03:55 PM

Ha! I'm afraid it will be another year before I can afford pants for my dog...probably more like two. I'll have to get out of the doghouse first grin

I ordered a smoker for Father's Day. It wouldn't have been bad, but it cost $450 shipped. "But" says I "I talked them down $100! Think of the money I saved us!"

That argument never seems to work... grin grin

Not even when she told me I HAD to buy myself a smoker so I could cook the dinner we're responsible for providing for her family's reunion next week.

If I get my AR9 pistol sold b that I just finished building for myself I'll be able to say the TNT was the birthday present she forgot to get me. If not, I don't know how to explain the sword AND the big pile of gun parts I ordered. Midway has crazy discounts for your birthday if you're registered on their site...which may have started me down the path building the AR9 pistol in the first place....

Does it matter that I was able to get the parts to finish the Grendel builds for my two daughters? Nope (well, OBVIOUSLY I had to get some parts to finish a build I'm working on for myself while I was at it...and bullets to load for my daughter's and my Grendels and the 6.5CMs). My wife buys that "think of the money I saved us" argument even less when it comes to guns and ammo... She'll be thanking me when the zombies start riding though!!!!! grin grin grin grin

In the woods of Ricky Ricardo: " [I'm gonna] have some 'splainin' to do!" grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Life is hard for squirrels who are attracted to shiny objects....I mean, my brain is the size of a macadamia nut for Pete's sake! Is it any wonder I have no self control or attent.... Hey, what's that over there???!!!

I agree with both.
Me personally I would go fully enclosed unless you are carrying strong side and want to draw that way then exposed spine will let you draw better.
But Saber/cross Draw is the way to go, it has worked for over a 1000 years

Re: TNT Dingage? - 07/21/21 09:55 AM

I was dinged another $1 on the 16th as well. I'm wondering if we'll be charged the full balance before the end of the month...I went Raw Dog because by the time I heard about it, that was the only thing left to get and I didn't want to miss out, lol. I might look to see if I can trade it for a coated version later, I'll need to get it in my hands before I decided though.

Re: TNT Dingage? - 07/21/21 02:24 PM

Thanks. This will be the first sword I've bought in a very long time and the first Busse (kin) blade I've ever preordered. 15 inch blade, 1.5 pounds, but with a POB that's 2 3/4 inches in front of the guard. Sounds like it will have serious cutting power, but still be pretty quick in the hand.

LOL.

How long on average does it take for them to invoice you once you've been hit with the second $1 charge?
Posted By: SkunkHunter

Re: TNT Dingage? - 07/21/21 08:05 PM

KK, it seems to vary depending on when you got in, alphabetical by your name, or because of some arcane Voodoo spell Dan picked up when he was trying to get Jerry to let go of some more INFI steel for the Mini-Trash Dan is getting ready to build. And it won’t be long. I overheard Dan’s dog talking to our little Bella about it just earlier this week. I mean all I could hear was barking, but I KNOW that’s what they were barking about. grin

Thanks, but sometimes I question my sanity, but considering my chosen user name, the answer should already be obvious. grin

I saw the SCRAPYARD KNIFE SPECS thread, the first and only time (Until now) they made a sword was 11 years ago! shocked So I'm very glad to have gotten in on this run since this clearly doesn't happen often. That having been said, I still would like to see a full sized version to go with this waki, not counting on it happening, but it would be very nice to see. cool

I noticed they hussled me up front. I wasnt sure how to go about ordering it and think i got it sorted close to last call if not on it. ONE OF MANY REASONS over the last year my blades have thinned down to literally 95% busse/kin only ... Im not somone who will use or especially endorse a product unless i truly respect the company and its owner(s). I cant get on the "ya but the quality speaks above the arrogance" etc.. If i dont like you or the people you choose to represent your company i wont support your business.. lets just say the busse family has filled a major void and i am VERY gratefull and happy to be here. laugh

Re: TNT Dingage? - 09/07/21 11:24 PM

Oh I think it’s pretty certain we have the Steel virus. And in our cases I don’t think there is any cure.

Now about that Mini-Trash. wink Remember, 4in blade with just a mini choil (say about the size of a chainsaw file) or 4.5in with a full one finger choil. Oh and you could mimic the Ash 1 handle, but in Res-C of course. grin

Noooo. Still awaiting shipment. Don’t they realize some of us are old and might die at any time? And our dying wish is to see our beloved TNT before we enter into eternal sleep. cry sleep
