Dawgs, remember that today 246 years ago we declared our freedom from tyranny and oppression. Freedom from being treated as possessions and not a free people responsible for and to ourselves. We must never let this power be declared over us again for the next time may bring an era we will not be able to overcome.

So on this day celebrate the Birth and continued existence of the greatest declarations the world has ever known.

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction,” former President Ronald Reagan once said. “We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day, we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

Be proud of our nation. Has our nation done things that ought not to have been? Of course, unfortunately. But to forget the past is to repeat it, something we must not let happen.

So on this day, let ALL free peoples celebrate their right to live their lives according to the way God intended for us to be. Freedom to do as we please but ensuring we cause no harm to our neighbors by our actions. Live and let live, that is the meaning of freedom.

It wasn’t a bad day. We had grilled pork steaks, tater salad and baked beans along with Cole slaw.
