Pvt klink- receiving the blade is much better, as long as I get to the box before my wife sees it.
Had a hell of a time explaining the tan AK when that came in.

You just need to convince the wife that it is for her use as well, then HIDE it!!!

Le! I really like a satin blade, and I thought that I would end up screwing up the black finish pretty quickly.
I have a satin BR, a bog dog, and a safari dog; the uncoated blades have held up fine so far. My only concern is rust, which has not been an issue, yet.

Actually, I like it enough that I may end up getting a coated one, as well.

It really is a nice knife. I just put a camo lanyard on mine' as I can't do much else with it at 2 in the morning without my wife killing me.

Howdy Ho and Welcome cgeyer! The Scrapper will make you smile! The Resiprene-C handle fits your hand just the same as ones that made us appreciate the first Swamp Rat models. Res C.....I like it more than the micarta grips on all but the Choppers of the new SRKs.

I have a Busse basic 7. Is the Res c like that handle?

Thats Res c...I hate to say it, but I don't really like the handle configuration of the new SRKs.....Like the Mole Jack and satin jack Tac.....something about it...Now Res C....I could squeeze that all day!

cgeter - I don't know about the Basic 7, but the Scrapper 6 has a Resiprene-C handle that is like the older Swamp Rat knives. If you aren't familiar with them, they are GREAT! By the way, I received my Scrapper one week after I ordered, so the wait won't be too long. Just a couple more notes regarding this knife, it is several ounces lighter than the regular production BR and it has a very thin edge. This is one light, fast and yet durable knife and a great addition to any collection. In the close-up check out that temper line!

oh, right -- the BR i know was zone-hardened -- although i would have guessed that the satin one was through because the other tan-handled ones are, so that's a bit of a surprise... but i can't see a line on my ScrapLEs -- can you?
