My wife and I will be moving back to Katy as soon as we sell or house here in AZ.

I would like to make it to Fredricksburg or anywhere in the "hill country"

Fredricksburg has some of the best meat shops in the country. My wifes grandparents go there every week just for the meats.

Howdy JRK ! Welcome to the Yard. Even though you have to pay sales tax, you should enjoy some fast shipment of knives. Mine arrived one week after I ordered, and I live in S.W. Missouri. Tom

I wish they would put some discriptions on the deferences between the two models... If a zero grind is what I think it is, it is probabally the one I want(flat to the edge and then a convex put on the very edge).
But there is not much choice, as I want a blade with no coating... I have found that my experience coincides with the Bark River people, in that coatings(even Teflon) seem to REALLY lower cutting ability in meat...

I think a zero edge is any edge that has no seconday bevel at all -- the second Scrap6LE i got had a convex edge that was blended into the primary grind, but the angle on both of them becomes more obtuse up to the edge, to varying degrees. I hope this helps...

I always wondered what that meant exactly...Zero edge. A certain SBR has it and it is wicked sharp!

GF - maybe they will use the same mold as the SBR, and make a zero-edged uncoated 9" scrapper. Voila!

OH....those nether regions are tingling again......you shouldn't such things...this is a family forum!

The last time my "nether regions" tingled like that I had a tick crawling around. Of course, that was before I received my Scrapper.

I was going to Texas to visit my old platoon, they are heading to Iraq on the 15th of Oct...Does Scrapyard have a "store" front folks can visit? Patti or Dan, could I get a little help on this?

Me too, I few brothers over there need some support...emotionally they collapsed after everyone parted ways after we returned from Iraq.

The internet can help you guys stay in touch, and you should. You are all part of a "Brotherhood" that many people wouldn't understand or appreciate.
Last year a couple of my buddies from VietNam came in from New York and California, and together we went to the big Operation Homecoming for VietNam Veterans in Branson, Missouri. It was the first time we had seen each other in almost 35 years, and we had a great time getting together again. It all happened by finding posts on the internet. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

If they weren't in so much trouble and apent their money on strippers and booze, they might be able to afford a computer....good folks just in some bad times right now.

Same here......I find the 6 inch blade a space filler......to small to be a chopper....too big to be a skinner or EDC, for most folks. I like em Large or small. Put pizzas up for order, I am sure they will sell!

I bet the BOWIE would be great for slicing up pizza!
