The DogFather and the deer head: GRAPHIC pics

Happy New Year All!!

We had a lucrative hunt over the holidays and got this nice cull buck.
Big necked son-of-a-buck.
I asked during skinning if we could forgo the usual head removal method and use my DF.

And I took pictures.

The fur traders in my area used these huge Hudson bay knives and they had to carry everything so if big knives were not useful they would not have bothered.
Here is a photo of a couple actual Hudson Bay knives. They are between the DF and Hooker in size and quite heavy.
