Keep trying it took me two attempts. The store is just having trouble handling the load.

Few Ok, I put it through with like 3 different cards and different tries. I only wanted one and I hope thats all I got. I really hope they didnt hit me for like the 10 times I tried.

It wasn't Dan or Patti's fault. We were told there were a very limited amount of DF's available. I won't be upset if I miss this one. Life is too short to get migraines or ulcers over buying a knife. It's fun to get on here and "play the game" with everyone else.

I must have passed a shipping price threshold, my S&H was $50.95; my previous top was $30.95. I don't know if S&H is based on total number of items, total cost, if by item, or some combination. I wasn't going to miss out on this release by waiting to find out though -- this release was an OUTSTANDING value.

I ordered two knives and shipping was $18.95 if that helps any. If you think it was a mistake you need to PM Patti about it.

I ordered one and my shipping to NJ, USA was $14.95 which does seem like a lot.

$14.95 is normal shipping for one knife.

Thanks, that does help. However, I went a little overboard on this release, so it's probably not a mistake. I just can't pass up on a bargain.

If it's processing the standard base shipping OK, then it's probably base + an increment per additional item, possibly with an additional insurance price based on the total. If I really wanted to play with it, I could try putting together different order combinations and then bailing before finalizing, but I don't want to disrupt the store right now.

I got one, maybe. Got an e-mail saying there was a problem wit my card. I called AMEX. No problems on their end. My credit is actually bottomless, with the good old Gold Card.
Hopefully, it gets sorted out.
Should be easier for the consumer, though.

FWIW I had no problems whatso-ever ordering. Don't know if it was because the second it came up for sale I ordered so the system might not have been overloaded then.

It's possible that Amex's online verification is not implemented by the store. Amex is a niche player in a sea of Visa/Mastercard.

Got one for myself, my son, and my girlfriend - the first SY knives I've purchased.

In all honesty, I was hoping for the version of this with the painted blades - but I figured it'd be easy to paint 'em myself if they start to rust.

My guess is that my fixed bladed knife buying days are hereby over. Between the Chopweilers for my son and I, this ought to finish out the field knife stuff.

Now to pick up two or three good folders (GRIN)

I decided to go shooting and just got back. Figured that "good until Tuesday" meant there'd be plenty, but decided to take the wife up on her offer to order for me if need be.

I had one of those click to finalize order, then ended up back in the cart moments, but I was in such a hurry that I can't swear that I didn't click the wrong button. I've always used PayPal for payment, and haven't had any problems with that part so far.

I also experienced that initial "Sorry all sold out" thing some folks reported, but I assume that was because I got into the item before they were released for purchase. I wasn't the first to place an order, but I think I was pretty close -- I was F5ing and jumped on them as soon as they appeared.

Yep; all the way through, clicked on the "click to go to PayPal" picture, made payment and clicked the "back to Scrap Yard" link, and got the invoice screen (plus automated emails from Scrap Yard and PayPal). So far, once I get to the payment screen, I've always been golden.

I was logged in to the Scrap Yard store about an hour before the knives went up (it made me change my password again, so I was happy that I didn't get hit with that while under pressure to complete the order). Being logged in lets me select my profile name to auto-complete all the identifying info, so all that worked for me too.

yeah, I was sitting here waiting and refreshing and I got mine ordered at 13:02:22. But I had logged in already and made sure that I had my Google autofill thing all set up so it automatically filled my Address info and CC info and I was good to go.

I ordered mine at exactly 4:01pm here in NJ which is when it first appeared because I kept refreshing starting at 4:00pm. :-) Man, my first Scrap Yard knife. I've been looking for a good camping knife and I feel this just may be it. Woohoo!
