I can not bring myself to buy a FB with micarta handles anymore, now that I have had Res-C in my hands!! Know what I mean?

i'm still on the fence about that..

initially i thought i'd have a strong preference over one or the other..
but i really like BOTH!

Res-C has more grip when wet, has cushioning. Prolly better for heavy chopping.

Micarta feels more "connected" to blade.. i like to play with my knives, flip around, grip changes, chop air.. and Micarta seems faster in the hand than Res-C.
Looks uber sexy when oiled.

I just ordered my FB last week and boy am i glad. I think it is awesome looking.
16 inches long and over 2 inches wide. that is one big knife.

I'm with TKC on this one, the only thing wrong with the FBM was the lack of a res-C handle option! Jerry had sooooo many handle materials available and he still missed the most important one!

Where oh, where is could my Dog Father be?

In my mind, the Dog Father is a FBM with Resiprene-C instead of Micarta and SR-77 steel instead of Infi.

All of the other stats and the blade profile are very close to the Fusion Battle Mistress.

The Dog Father LE is the Satin finish FBM CG without CBT that every one was asking for.

The DF is gonna be so sweeeet!!

The DF is the poor mans FBM, just with a much better handle (and price tag)! Really it's just carbon steel for $140 or stainless for $370.. I'll just add a small nalgene bottle of oil to my kit!

Agreed.. the passing of the FBM from the Busse store was sad.. but in some ways i'm a little glad.. because I too kept looking at it.. couple times came close to pulling the trigger.. but did NOT! (oh man i'm gonna be sorry some day)

Apart from the corrosion resistance sr77 is more than a fair match for INFI when you factor in price..

I had a $700 Chopper....it was REALLY fun to use, that's why I can't wait for the DF.....and the FBMLE and AK and RUCK.

Hindsight is 20/20!! Which is why I listened to myself about bought the Scrapper 6 in the first place!! I was upset that I wasn't able to get one at Blade, and was NOT going to let another opportunity to do so pass me by!

Don't worry Tony the little S6 will return.. I'll be glad to get my paws on the DF when they finally break cover! I wouldn't abuse a FBM but the DF is a user through and through.

It's not too late for the FBM. The Busse Company store will have them eventually. If you see one available there, be sure to jump on it or you will have to pay secondary market prices which haven't been too bad yet but if you wait too long they will get crazy.

I'm not a micarta fan so I'll wait for a Basic 7 or 9 to show on BF or Dan to do a big INFI blade (I wish!), but I bet others here will bite!!

I used to be a micarta fan, that is until I got a Scrap Yard knife wil Res-C.

This company is so in touch with it's customers (and really cares what we think) and produces such superb kit at 'real world' prices I'd want to own a part of it! Just to be able to say I have one of each of the yard CG knives and (whatever)% of the company! Kind of like Victor Kiam but on a much smaller scale!

I much prefer the look and handle of the DF to the FBM. The only real advantage
to the FBM is the INFI and that makes it really pricey. I don't like the look of the hellrazor either. The assymetrical grinds are cool though. Even the Busse basics are not as nice with that thumb scab on the res c handle.

I also prefer th look of the DF to the FBM also.
