Showed Pit Jr my Secret Place !

Well I guess it really isn't that big a secret but I do know that not many people go along this track, you can tell when a trail get's a lot of use or very little !

This was when we had just reached the top....




The sea looked really blue today !!!


We found a spot to sit and tucked into our cheese salad sarnies, washed down with some tea....


Maisy kept reminding Zach that she likes cheese sarnies as well !!!

While we ate there were Turkey Vultures circling above our heads and we could also hear some seals barking in the water below.....




While I waited for Zach to finish his food I kept myself busy by practicing my feather sticks again, two different knives, two different cuts on the wood !!!

After that we made our way back !!!

those things intimidate me.

you got brown bears too???

we've got lions out in the gorge, but the only sign I've seen of them are tracks and scent mounds in the snow

I'd never want to meet one in person though

That is a beautiful high point for sure!

If I were to climb there it would be an all day affair.

Or perhaps just the point in my life that I finally sit down and quit.

That's quite right, the Temperance was designed for defense against wild animals !

Yeah we do get Mountain Lions in the area. I have found their scat very close to where I took this hike but I have still to see a lion !
I guess there could be balck bears as I have heard that people have seen them in this general area, but I think they are mainly found a little further up Island.
