Okay Dawgs,

I have a mission!
My mission is to have 500 posts or more before Christmas!
Today is December 20th, and I'm shutting down the Computer at about 3 pm
on Christmas Eve. That gives me about 3 1/2 days to get to 500 posts.
This post will be post # 454, so I don't have far to go.

That's where you come in. I can't do this by myself, if I could, I'd be
posting in response to my posts, which is like talking to yourself, which
is something that I do on a regular basis.....but that's another story <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Kick it into high gear folks so that I have lots of things to respond to.
And yes, I know there is the Death Chat, both here in the knife forum and

Personally, I think that posting to up your post count is extremely STUPID and unneeded on the Yard. Im not a mod or nonsensical posting or TROLLING would be infraction worthy. If you have something to say that is pertinent to the thread, then by all means, post. If not, read and learn as opposed to just posting for the hell of it. I have been on the Yard over a year and it took me over a year to reach JYD status, for what its worth. Post count isnt indicative of anything and doesnt make you get any more respect n the Yard. The men on this forum earn their respect via the friendships they have built over the years. Not because they have a few grand posts. OFF RANT.

Guys - let's keep it civil! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> Many of us have built up our post counts deliberately, whether to qualify for something or just to reach JYD - there's nothing wrong with that. The posts often generate interesting topics themselves, and as long as the rules are followed there really isn't a problem. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Back to the task at hand DotD.... What you gonna do with that SOD when it comes? I can't wait until my LE gets here!!

speaking of that im gonna start a nw thread for anyone who wants to see what an SOD can handle....i havent gotten mine yet but when i do im going to max test it. if it breaks ill then i will have to test the garuntee. i hate limits <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Break a 1/4" thick Scrapyard... Not likely. My S6 could be used as a crow-bar and I expect the SOD to handle the same. Don't get me wrong though.. I'd love to see pics of you trying..

I am in awe at the support you have received in your endeavor to max test the SOD. It only goes to show how much the 'dogs' stand by their belief in this product.

I welcome this post!!!! I have total faith that the SOD will stand up to EVERYTHING and MORE than the S6 has done in the past. I honestly think Scrap Yard has built the knife they can bet their company on with the SOD. The SOD as the big dawg chopper and the SOD as the survival/combat/camping/outdoors carry knife. Im REALLY sold on my SOD. wish i had purchased two of them.

If it wasn't for Christmas fast approaching, I'd have bought one of each variation offered. I don't think mom would have appreciated an SOD LE though....

Yep, that Ratti has been put through its paces this winter. The pic that I put
up was when it was still relatively new to me. It's been lovingly used since

I'm of the opinion that this is a great place to be, and strongly encourage all

I've heard good things about the Warden, I wouldn't mind seeing something like it from the yard. I would easily make it my edc.

Currently I edc my SOG seal pup, only because if it gets jacked or beat up it wont hurt as much.

I just thought I'd let you know that MANY have done what banana-clip just did to get their post count up.
Tom has probably done, as have many other JYD's.

for some reason it may bug you...
but it's just a post count.
If someone wants a higher post count, than you shouldn't hold anything against them for it.
You said yourself it's not indicative of anything, and doesn't earn you anything...
so why would you care?

you seem to have a certain negativity about people posting in this thread to try and get their post count up (you call it foolish nonsensical) and continue to post in this thread... (often making cynical and childish comments)

EMF - you are right, on a certain level, as i implied, it is meaningless, however, it just seems that some of the fellas who have been here forever, have gotten a post count that high by part of contributing to threads in ways other that one or two worded posts... IDK, perhaps you are right, it shouldnt bother me. I just think that post count is indicative, in some ways, of a person's longevity here. for example, it took me over a year to get 1000 posts. i didnt rush to get there. JYD status is something that you get over time, i would posture. i KNOW Jeff, Vic, mac, vance, bld, etc, did get there by frivilous postings of one-lettered words. oh well, its not a big deal i guess. sorry i brought it up.

I am trying to maintain the Christmas spirit, so will suggest that criticism of fellow Dogs posting to build up their count be dropped. As long as the rules are followed there is nothing wrong with it. Back when the Yard was new, I made JYD in 20 days (I think)`, mainly by conversing with Gravelface, Paul the Brit, and Andy. Reconseed, I want to try and get through your Psych paper post in the outdoor
forum over the holidays. Didn't have a lot of time before now, but have 4 days
off, so I can do some reading, hopefully. It's been a long time since I've had
the opportunity to go over a Psych paper. The last time was when I did a grammar
edit a friends Abnormal Psych term paper back in the early 90's.
