The BusseCombat site says it's under construction and right now you can't get in.Does this mean that they are busy posting up the new model on the main page? And is it the HOG hg-55 ,or was that just a special release? If SwampRat is releasing a new model and so is Busse then I can only assume that a new Dog is headed our way too!OUCH my pocket book!

Gotta love all this action from BUSSEKIN!

I would assume they are switching out the offering on the Busse site.

I believe you're correct; the bussecompanystore.com has a bunch of NMSFNOs, so I'd guess they'll no longer be the featured item on bussecombat.com.

I believe you're right. I saw a post by Jerry B. on the Busse section of bladeforums earlier today... I think at least the LE is gone forever.

Yep, those and also any G-10 versions, and Hand-shaped as well.

I've been sticking to my plan to save up for Knob Creek pretty well this month. However, even though I don't care for the look of the SFNO handle, I started looking at NMSFNO posts and couldn't find anyone who didn't like them. On top of that, there was talk of the gray ones being "very rare and very cool"... Next thing I knew I'd ordered two.

Well, so much for saving for KC...at least you got two nice blades.

I'm trying to save for Blade 09' myself..

Will have to see what we can pull out of Knob this year

With the recession and all, do you suppose Blade will be affected? Just wondering. It's not like most folks actually need all these knives.

I don't know; I think that it may have been over in the ROS Arms subform, but I read somewhere that knife sales are still quite strong (gun sales are even better, but there are other factors involved there). On the surface, anything not essential would seem to be vulnerable, and depending on how long it takes to bounce back, knife companies could get hit hard. However, based on little more than a gut feeling and a few posts by folks who may not know any more than I do, I think they're OK for now.

I sure hope not. This will be my first trip to Blade and I'm driving down from PA to attend, and force Jerry to HOG-ify me...lol

I am aiming to take around 3 grand of disposable mula with. 350 for the room at the waverly, 200 for food and ish. The rest will go for Bussekin. I'm freaking excited.

Oh, BTW, $3,000 is a lot to me..

P-Easy, I give you props!
There are many ways to spend 3k. If all the necessities are covered
(food, shelter, etc.) than why not splurge a little. I have considered
the alternatives and knife collecting seems to be pretty healthy. It keeps
us out of trouble for the most part, and consumes much of our time.
We also get to learn a lot from each other and build some really nice
friendships as well. And from what I've seen in the aftermarket you are
making a SOLID investment! If I could make it to Blade this year I would
but I've got a few trips planned (Vegas, New York, DC) so no disposable income.
Hopefully I'll make to Blade 2010, lol!

Ah Vegas, never been there.

The girlfriend and I are planning a trip there in mid July for her 21st B-day.

Re: Busse site. - 02/26/09 06:15 AM

Oh also, the way I see blade, is as one large Ganza where I can touch and grope, and maybe even be first in line for some sort of crazy-super-blade-only releases from all three of the Bussekin companies.

Or I could just get drunk and take it as it comes.

Re: Busse site. - 02/26/09 07:48 AM

If any 3B2's surface at KC Jim I reckon they are very worth picking up...mine arrived today...and it is the nicest Ash I have handled and I have owned them all. I think with this knife I now have my 6 inch blade covered...it is very old school...like a SJTAC blade on a Skinny handle...sort of SHSH'ish...I like this more than my JackHammer...more blade heavy and better chopping power...mine mic's at .23 and is the third knife on which I am prepared to leave the coating! Way better than the combat HG55's.....enjoy KC...

Re: Busse site. - 02/26/09 09:23 AM

LOL, there is no first in mob!

Dude, Vegas can be the best vacation ever or worst experience ever. Be careful!
I lived there for a while, limit the gambling and hit all the hotspots. If you are not afraid of heights I recommend all three rides on the Stratosphere. Highest three rides in the world! Over 1000 ft. high. Also, for the girlfriend don't forget to reserve a gondola ride at the Venetian. Major points! A crepe desert at Paris, the forum shops at Caesar's Palace, but beware the little white wedding chapel! It has a drive-thru...so I've heard...

Lol every time someone mentions crepes, all I can think of is Ricky Bobby.

Hey investing $3000 on Bussekin knives is like transforming it into $5000 from a secondary market point of view! So it's an awesome investment.
