Who here makes or has made a knife?

I'm just curious...How many folks here have made their own knife/knives? I hope this isn't inappropriate for this forum...

So, do you make them as a hobby? Do you sell them? What type of knives do you like to make?

I've made three kit knives so far and am about to start my first two "from scratch" knives. One out of 1080 carbon steel w/ Black Dymonwood scales and another out of D2 with blue G-10 scales.

If all goes well, I will have a new hobby. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I carved some knives out of wood. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

I've whittled a few out of wood too. And ground some out of slate. And eventually I'll pull together my casting project and have a copper knife (well, a dagger really)...

Thanks Vic. That is my basic "bushcrafter" outline, but one of the guys wanted me to flat grind it and I loved it! I really want to make myself one now.....just need to get around to it.

That is a practical and useful looking knife. To me, it looks all business, and that is beautiful.

I have never made my own knife. I know my limitations and there are enough talented knife makers out there that I don't really have the desire to make one.
